"smart theatre kid"? chances?

<p>white boston-suburb female, class of 08
SATI: cr800/wr780/m690
SATII: will be taking lit, us, & spanish in the spring
GPA: 8.13/9 w (bizarre system @ my school), appx. 3.71/4 uw
rank: my school doesn't, but in top 15% of 500-person class (my school is pretty rigorous, public, sends a decent amt to top u's)</p>

<p>classes: a mix of honors/AP and regular level...my school doesn't offer many APs until senior yr. (this yr: hon eng/hon span/APUSH/bio/math, next yr hon eng/AP psych/AP bio/intro calc)</p>

<p>ec's:
-HUGE amt's of theatre. at my school, have been in or worked on 11 shows over last 3 years (acting, singing/dancing, ass't directing, stage managing, etc etc). working on a community outreach program, applying to direct a full-length musical next year. have also done outside acting classes, community theatre, summer programs.
-hope to be attending college summer theatre intensive this coming summer.
-currently, am in 3 choruses (jazz, gospel, a cappella: all audition), co-director of a cappella. also 2yr private voice lessons.
-freshman guide @ school, would like to do big bro/big sis next year.
-part-time (it varies depending on theatre, from 3-5hr/wk to 8-10hr/wk) work at a dance retail store, since last spring. other work experience in boston theatres ushering/selling merchandise, etc.</p>

<p>essays and recs should both be quite strong.</p>

<p>am looking for:
bigger school (5000+, though willing to look at smaller schools)
in my corner of the country (only looking as far west as IL and as far south as VA or so)
ideally in or near a city
very strong theatre, but also strong academically.</p>

<p>University of Rochester (strong theater department, along with Eastman Conservatory) - Conservatory is by audition, theater is not, but Rochester students can take classes from Eastman grad students, and there are plenty of music opportunities for non-Eastman students.</p>
