Hey guys,

I know there's a lot of questions asking if med schools care about your undergrad school, but here's my situation I need some advice for: currently I am a sophomore at the university of Connecticut in the honors program with a cumulative gpa of 3.7 and have recently joined a research lab. I have lived in Connecticut all my life, but I am really considering transferring to east Carolina university. Uconn is a top 20 school and ecu is around 150 or so but I feel like I belong in north Carolina and really feel liked would love school there. Uconn has been a pretty average-stressful experience for me and I really want to transfer but I feel it would hurt me as an applicant for medical school. If I did transfer I do realize I would need to become a resident there to apply to Brody school of medicine but what would my options be if I did not get in? I was also willing to take a year off before med school if I do decide to transfer to build up my resume more and get the NC residency requirements. Please let me know what you guys think is my best option.
