I barely ever watch TV but have chosen to watch Smash and watched the first two episodes and planned to watch tonight, the third installment. I feel like a compete idiot! I’ve been planning to watch it all night and so I turned the TV on right at 11 PM, thinking it was 10 PM at night. The news came on. OMG, I thought it was only 10 PM! So, I missed the show! I’m obviously not too tied into TV! So, now I need to see it. I went to the NBC site and I only see complete episodes there for the first two weeks. Does anyone know a way to see tonight’s episode or does it eventually get posted to NBC’s site at some point? Thanks.

I think NBC waits until it has aired on the West Coast. I would imagine that it will be up by tomorrow.

Yes, that makes sense. I’ll have to wait and pay the price. I am assuming that since NBC has the two previous episodes posted to watch that they eventually will post this one too.

OH wow… this show is really just about SEX.
Too bad they could not come up with a plot that had a different focus…

This episode was the worst yet. I really am going to try not to watch any more… It’s too bad! What a waste of a good idea…

Yes, Cartera, he’s the guy, Will Chase. But it’s not just a rumor. Both of their marriages ended and they’re together. For how long, who knows.

I thought this was a pretty boring episode and the writing continues to disappoint.

@performersmom: That’s what my D said too!! She said, “Really? Is this just going to be about sex?” haha!

re: Debra Messing and Will Chase. Talk about life imitating art! Isn’t he the guy who’s playing DiMaggio? (don’t want to do too much of a spoiler for those who haven’t seen episode three…).

Yes, SDon, he’s playing DiMaggio.

I, too, forgot to TivO but it sounds like I didn’t miss much…

…was disappointed with episode #2; not sure if I’m going to stick this one out…

.maybe till #6 since the early reviews (NYTimes, for one) said it took 3-4 episodes for it to come to fruition…

this is what the NYT review said, “but by Episode 3 it shows signs of becoming an addictive pleasure.”

Episode three wasn’t pleasurable for me… Maybe other reviews signal that it’s worth sticking around, but it’s really just a cliched soap opera IMO. I suppose I might give it a try or two more since I have little will power…

I watched only the first episode so far. I will watch the others eventually (I have them recorded) but to be honest I was really disappointed. I was, however glad to see them use real stage performers. This trend of using film stars for stage musicals is starting to irritate me big time.

I have several observations after watching all three episodes:
I don’t LIKE most of the characters, and, in fact don’t remember any of the characters’ names except Karen and Ivy. It does seem to be all about sex right now. I am really tired of Angelica Huston throwing the drink in that guy’s face. It was ok the first time, but now it’s just old. I thought Karen’s dad was sweet. I thought the DiMaggio guy’s wife was extremely supportive about his taking this role, but apparently he repays her by sleeping around. jerk. Even so, I think the singing is strong and will probably watch again.

only reason to watch…Christian Borle…period

Numbers keep declining every week, something better happen or it won’t last long!

OK-well, I got up to do the dishes at one of the commercials and when I heard it come back on, decided to just finish the dishes. When I did come back, one commercial later, I didn’t have any trouble figuring out what was going on, because the writing is so shallow and nothing had really happened!! Disappointed in Episode3, and yes, it does seem to be all about sex. They need to fire Mr. Slime Bucket assistant who stole the folder (don’t remember any names because they are not memorable characters!) There is no way someone in Debra Messing’s position would put up with him and word would get around about him (although I am guessing it is in the works for a little blackmail by him).

There are just so many interesting things that go on behind the scenes in theater, it is sad that they are focusing just on the negative. They have lost me… on to the next season of American Horror Story (talk about slime balls and negative energy!)

Yes, I am disappointed because I was really hoping for a meaty “milieu” show, divulging all the ins and outs of Broadway theater and musicals.
Not happening.

I was really hoping to enjoy this show since I have an MT daughter and a dancer daughter. I have watched the first three episodes. BORING. I don’t care for Katherine McPhee at all. She clearly can’t dance and I don’t think is much of an actress either. I didn’t love her on American Idol either, so maybe it’s just me. Megan Hilty is very talented. I saw her in Wicked on Broadway years ago and she was wonderful. But really, her role is pathetic. Reduced to sleeping with the director?? Come on. The writing is really just awful. I think I’m done.

I forgot it was on! I guess I didn’t miss much…

I finally saw the latest episode. It seems very soap opera-ish with a lot of focus on everyone’s relationships and affairs. It also seems unusual that the musical doesn’t have a full working draft with the workshop being imminent and it already being cast. Nice touch, however, in the scene with Karen and her dad back in Iowa.
