Is it true that there is a smell at South Bend? I've heard about it and apparently if you google it an article comes up about an ethanol smell due to some factory. Is it overwhelming?

Been to ND/South Bend numerous times, all different times of year, never noticed a smell.

all the admissions mail smell nice

Ethanol plant closed. Also, smell was generally only somewhat noticeable on west side of town, far from campus. Not an issue.

Midwestmomofboys I was so happy to read your post. I just did a quick google as this had been of some concern a while back, and it appears that another ethanol producer has bought the plant. They’re doing some renovations to help with the emissions and odor and are scheduled to be up and running in May of this year. Here’s the article.

We visited campus last week and didn’t smell any foul odors.
