As of now, I’m a political science major in CAS but am having second thoughts. Now, I"m starting to think that I would like to transfer to SMG. I looked into the classes that I would have to switch to and I saw that some were intro to micro and macro economics. I was in the student link and I saw that the only intro to micro economics class was filled up and this is one of the required core courses for SMG. Is this class offered again during the spring semester? And if it is, would I have to end up taking intro to micro and macro economics at the same time? Or could I just take intro to micro economics during the spring and take intro to macro during the summer at my local community college? Only respond if you know for sure. Thanks alot.

Oh and one other thing: How exactly would I go about officially transfering from CAS to SMG?

If you want to transfer, call the SMG UPO and talk to them (most likely they'll send you to Norm Blanchard).

Micro and macro are always offererd both semesters. You can also take them over the summer if you want.

I don't know if you're allowed to take econ after your freshman year--I imagine it's required for SM222 (if not, you'll want to have taken it already anyway). If you're going to transfer, you'll probably take SM299 your second semester of your freshman year and probably should just take both micro and macro along with it.

In any case, if you're thinking of transferring, the sooner you decide the better. Call the UPO and go over your options.
