Smith - Accepted

I just got a phone from Smith saying I've been accepted as a transfer for the Fall of 09. I'm really excited. Smith is not my first choice, but I definitely love the college, and I'm so happy I got in.

Anyone else transferring to Smith?

Congrats! Smith is a wonderful college, but I don’t know if I would want to go to an all-women’s school. That’s just me, though. I hear women thrive more in that environment, though. Yay for you!

Thanks! Well, the school is apart of the 5 college system with non-all girls schools. Personally, as long as the classrooms have a stimulating environment, I don’t mind. It’s not my first choice, but assuming they give me a nice finaid package, I’d choose it over 8 of the 17 schools I applied to.

Congratulations! It is so amazingly wonderful to know you’re getting out of where you are right now. Think about it, if you like the school already, you’ll probably love it after you get to know it.

Best of luck with your other applications, and congratulations on having a great backup!

Congratulations!!

OCC, congrats!! smith is such a good school. did u also apply to wellesley or any other womens colleges? Did u get your gtown interview yet?

OOCTransfer!! where are you from?

Congrats, OOCTransfer!
Smith is a great school! yah, a friend who’s also a smith transfer last yr told me smith would call the accepted applicants, how sweet that is! I’m surprised you get your decision sooo early while most of us are still waiting until mid-May, or later.
Would you post your stats here if you dont mind?

Is anyone in this thread applying to Smith? I know they admit in two waves. Now and in early June. I think it just depends when you turn in your paperwork. I thought I was going to have to wait til June because I sent my app on Feb. 26th.

JGee, as far as all girl colleges, I only applied to Smith and Wellesley.

OMG!! you are stellar! Not surprised to see why you heard your decision in the 1st wave yet your paper application should belong to the 2nd wave.
I applied to smith too and finished my application almost at the same time as you did. And havent heard from them yet. so nervous…

is Smith your first choice?

^
it depends. I havent got my decisions yet so it’s hard to say. but i will let u know later.
congrats again! are u going to accept the offer?

I have a few colleges I’m looking at, so I don’t know. What’re your stats?

OCC! are you from Cali CC ?

Congrats on an awesome acceptance!

OCC you are the bomb girl. Will you choose wellesley over smith? If so, and if I get in, we should totally hook up at Wellesley! Seriously. U should get into all the schools you applied to. Did u stanford yourself? U would have a good chance at those precious transfer places.

I know Wellesley is higher ranked, but I would probably pick Smith over Wellesley. I just think it’s a better fit, and I have a lot of respect for that school.

At this point, though, it depends on who is generous with their financial aid because I really don’t want to work full time while attending one of the harder schools in the United States. For once in my life, I just want to relax and enjoy my studies. Smith hasn’t given me a pin or username or else I would’ve known my finanical aid package by now.

ohh hope you get enough financial package!!
i also want to transfer into Smith too!!
Wellesley is #4 liberal arts college(US News) but i also think smith is better fit for me.
congrats again!
p.s : may i ask you something about smith transfer??
if you don’t mind, i wanna PM you.

i dont want to work either. it really takes a toll on either my self, or my grades. fingers crossed.

So, I guess I didn’t turn in all my financial aid forms… this stuff is so difficult when you have an atypical situation. It’s a lot of explanation that gets me no where. Rules are rules. Now I have to fill out Smith’s Dependency Status Appeal
