Smith class of 2014

:-) Careful, friends don’t let friends date Hampshire boys unless they (the boys) promise to shower.

Okay, not such a good joke, but seriously, I have had some ripe-smelling males in some of my classes from all of the five college schools. One of the best things about women’s college? Most of the students have good hygiene.

That’s always a good thing!

but, who doesn’t love a good tree-huggin’ hippie around once and a while?! haha

I love the hippies, but I think that one can tree-hug and still bathe occasionally, right? I mean, the trees want us to smell nice too…

I just finished and sent in my supplement! I hope to see you guys next year :)

I submitted my supplement a few days ago, working on the CommonApp essay now. :)

Yaay.

I have a sister who’s applying…
she heard a lot of really good things about the school from people who went there…
thats always a good sign!
hahahah

I was admitted ED as well! :)

@cheejch: To answer your question, I’d first have to agree with the others and point out that scores are optional and aren’t necessarily the biggest factor. I think Smith really does a great job of looking at the holistic perspective.

With that said, my GPA is actually very low compared to the others… I have an unweighted 3.3, and I don’t know my weighted, but it would be much higher. Like someone said, the rigor of courses is important. My SAT was a 2000, ACT was a 29, my two Subject Tests were 790 (US History) and 720 (World History), and I received a 4 on the AP US History exam. I think my dogged pursuit of Smith had a big impact - I visited three times, had interviews, went to Preview Days, and I also had an alumni recommendation. I do a lot of extracurriculars and community service. Finally, I submitted an art portfolio. A lot goes into the decision they make, not just GPA and SATs!

I’m applying from Vancouver!

Good luck to all who are applying Regular Decision!

…just finished applying.
Now, I just have to avoid biting all my fingernails off before April.
@ shamanclare: Vancouver, BC or Vancouver, WA?

I applied back in Nov. for RD
fingers crossed for a stride!!!

Sent off my application about a week ago…only a few more months :)

I’d lovelovelove a STRIDE. Smith is one of my top 3, but the other two don’t really offer much in the way of merit scholarships, so if I got something substantial from Smith I’d probably go.

Applying, probably won’t get in.

Nice to meet u.I am admitted by Smith under ED.Now I can yell I’m Smithie too : ) Will you enroll in Spring or Fall?

Miss Pickwickian, glad you decided to apply.

I’m done with my application, yay.

Applying Ada from Nevada. Here’s to a positive application process and hopefully lots of acceptances for everyone!

Hi guys (or should I say girls ;)!
I applied RD, wont find out till March/April, the days can’t go by quick enough!!
I have a 3.75 and 27 ACT with only about 5 ECs (because I have to work too)

Good luck to all of you!

One EC is enough if you’re dedicated to it. Good luck.

how do you get a STRIDE?

You get offered one with your admission decision, it’s a merit scholarship. All students are automatically considered for merit awards when they apply, and then those that get them get a notification with their admission letter. If you got accepted, but were not notified of winning a merit scholarship, then you didn’t get one.
