***Smith Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion***

Argh, we are locked out of the portal and can’t access the admissions decision! Has anyone else had this problem?

I got in! Can’t wait to meet you all!

does anyone know if zollman/stride scholarships have been announced? is that included on the bannerweb info?

I got in!!!

I GOT IN TOO

If anyone got in and got a stride merit scholarship would you be comfortable sharing your stats and stuff? I’m almost positive my parents arent going to qualify for financial aid and I’m curious what kind of level is needed to get a merit scholarship. thanks!

My D got her STRIDE scholarship information with the official acceptance package. It arrived about 4 days after the ED e-mail. None of the other ED admits had any financial aid information online when the e-mails went out. I am not sure if it the merit scholarship information is online. I am on a facebook Smith parent page and none of the new parents has mentioned anything about Merit scholarships. Good luck!

i got in too!!!

congrats to everyone on this thread!! unfortunately i wasn’t able to apply ED due to financial reasons, but its really surreal and exciting to just know that people have already been accepted lol! it’s gonna be hell waiting for another 3 months but i hope i can meet you all next fall ><

Congrats to everyone who got in! I am thinking of applying RD to Smith. Do you guys mind sharing your stats? I wanted to see if I have a chance or not. Again, congrats to everyone who got in!

I got in too!

good luck!

I got in but didnt get enough financial aid which is weird bc its need based but I’m so happy and proud of everyone we’re all gonna do amazingly

@miangus you can appeal! Maybe call the financial aid office on Monday and explain. Tell them that you really want to go but would not be able to because of money. You can also explain any context that might help (i.e. living in an expensive area)

@Fangirl1999 Yeah I’m in the process of doing that rn! Wish me luck!

Good luck! I hope it works out

@913cms I was in a similar situation last year, I really wanted to apply ED but my parents weren’t comfortable with it for financial reasons. I even told them in my RD application (in the “extra explanations” section of the common app) that I had wanted to apply ED but couldn’t because of financial aid. It all worked out for me, hopefully it will for you, too

Hey everyone! (So i just read that thread and I’m pretty sure I had a collective heart attack for all of you who got in… nice job!!!) I’m in love w smith and thinking about applying ed 2, could you guys check out my stats and compare them to yours? I’m just trying to get a gauge on my chances.
My act is a 31 superscore
30 composite
gpa 4.15 weighted
3.5 unweighted
I’m in 6 ap classes this year (and I’ve always taken as many as possible)
Head leader of my school’s women in stem club
varsity lacrosse
national honor society
app design with RPI
Internship with the Shedd Aquarium
Work at Trader Joes
…sorry that was so extra I literally just included everything on my activities list. My only worry is that my 1st semester grades are mostly B’s right now (even though all in ap’s)
<3 u all thanks for checking it out !!

@gbraun I don’t believe schools superscore the ACT, but 30 or above I think is a good bet for Smith.
You have great extracurriculars and courses! your UW gpa is a bit low compared to smith’s averages.

@gbraun Don’t worry about it, my school doesn’t do GPAs but I’ve gotten a mix of A’s and B’s all throughout high school. I definitely think it depends on the rigor of your courses, so you should have a good shot!
