I don't see any RD waiting Thread for class of 2015!
SO I am starting one. Let's talk about SMITH COLLEGE!

I love all-women's college and SMITH is certainly my top choice. However, my parents did not want me to apply ED (b/c of money problem they wanted me to go to in-state college...)
But if i get in, then I would love to go to Smith!
I had off-campus interview and I just love Smith even MORE! It is amazing!

Hey! I am so glad you started one! I am so nervous. I am applying rd because I have not been able to visit, but if I get in I will be attending Smith for sure. Does anyone know about what time we will find out? I know that it will of course around April 1st but when did they find out last year? I had my off campus interview in the fall and it made me love it even more too! I am so obsessed it is bad! Sorry for all the excitement!

northsh- Hello! I am glad that I am not the only one who applied RD! and I don’t know when we find out the result…but I heard last year’s ED I decision was released before Dec 15th…so I guess they release when they are ready…I am REALLY excited about SMITH college! I did my off-campus interview last weekend, and I LOVED IT! my interviewer just love Smith college and she impressed me! One thing I love about smith is the Housing system! It is unique tradition of Smith! I hope I can go to Smith College!! :))))

Haha you shouldn’t be happy you’re not the only one applying RD. If you were, you’d get in for sure
I love Smith too!!! The waiting is sort of killing me. I didn’t apply ED for financial reasons too but I think I might have if it weren’t for that. Oh well, I’ll probably be happy in the long run that I took more time to make the decision, but for now I really wish I knew already :S

DD is applying RD. Smith is among her “Top Three” and my personal fave although of course I have no say. :D

She likes it very much and is also in need of FA, which will play a role in her choices. She had an alumnae interview and seems to have done well with it.

So we wait like all of you. BTW she says hi but is a little too busy to come on live. Good luck to all!

STATS

2090 SAT’s
3.8 UW
Top 5% of Catholic school
Heavy involvement in theatre
Very good recs and essays.

spiritinthenight-Hello! yes…I hoped nobody applied for RD but then I would be loney in this thread :(!! Yes, financial problem is a HUGE deal for my family too. And I am an international student, so it is even a bigger problem for my family. Actually, Now I think back, i should applied for ED II or something. I mean…I am getting depressed and pessimistic everyday…and it is not good! Well, good luck!

Bossf51- Hi! Your D has amazing stats! I am not top 5% in my school and I just found I made a really really silly grammaric mistake on my Smith Supplimentary short answers. the answers were limited to 1000 characters and I was sort of playing with words around and I did not change [Women] to [Woman]. Smith is currently my first choice because I had a great time with my interviewer and I just love Smith after that. (I also applied to Wellesley :))

here is my stat
*GPA: 3.9 W
*TOP 15% of public high school (High school size- over 2000 total. it is about size of Smith!!)
*9 Ap classes in 4 years of high school. Strong in Science and Math (5 AP in Senior year)
*found a volunteer organization, work for 3 years in one place, VP of Science National Honor Society, Chess player, Black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, ect
*4 recs (counselor, two teacher, and my essay editor) and ‘unique’ essay (that’s what my essay editor told me about my Common app essay.)
*Strong point-Activities
*weak point-SAT (Pretty bad in CR and WR section…:(

I hope we alll hear gooooood news from Smith SOON

Smith is my reach, but is also my number one. I love the housing system as well. Plus just the things I hear about it from other people are always great!
I have a 3.8 taken honors and one ap class this year- ap stat. Applying test optional with great extracurriculars and recommendations. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I love Smith so much!

For Smith College Class of 2014 the ED II decision release date was January 21, 2010 and the regular decision release date was March 26, 2010. Smith College indicates or their website that ED II decisions will be issued no later than the end of January and regular decision no later than April 1.

I’ve also applied for Smith College in RD. Smith is my very top choice and the only reason I applied RD was because I wanted my senior year first semester grades to go to Smith College so they can see my grades have been improving and such. I can’t imagine myself at anywhere but Smith and I’ve been having nightmares of not being admitted for the past few weeks. I’m in Japan and now its 3 am. I think I have insomnia. I’m going to die from stress before I get my admissions decision…

hi i’m applying for RD. Just was wondering if we are supposed to receive some kind of confirmation email/letter about our application to smith? like are we supposed to have accounts on online portals where we can check the status of our application and stuff? i submitted my application more than a month ago, but i have yet to hear from Smith at all, so kinda worried :/

You’re supposed to be getting a PIN/ID at some point but my daughter among others hasn’t as yet. Give it a few more days then you might wish to call/email your admissions counselor.
