Okay, so I was just given the information to log onto BannerWeb today and check my status, what they've received, etc. Smith says that they've received everything except my midterm grades (understandably) and...my Common Application supplement.

I finished and sent the supplement over a month ago, on January 7th. So why, oh why, oh why is it showing up as not received when plenty of materials that I sent several weeks later ARE? You'd think they would have processed it by now.

Does anyone have experience with anything similar? Is this something to be concerned about? Should I call admissions tomorrow and ask? I'm kind of freaking out right now.

Yes you should call but don’t panic - there can be a lag between what they get and what the have time to log into banner web. My D’s SAT scores took a while to show up however you should definitely speak to someone in admissions.

I don’t think you should be too concerned. It doesn’t hurt to call, but what they will probably tell you is that there is often a lag between when they get things and when they get things logged in to bannerweb. There’s somebody who has to sit there and manually log each piece of paper for each applicant into Bannerweb, and they don’t neccessarily start as soon as they receive a piece of paper (think about it – many, many people send in partial applications or start to apply but get accepted elsewhere and never finish, so it’s a lot of wasted effort to bannerweb log someone’s stuff until you receive most of the application packet). Give it a week, and if it’s still not there, send it again.

I called when something similar happend…piece of app was not logged 3-4 weeks after it was due. They said it wasn’t a problem, they were just behind in processing. It popped up within the following week.

They have not…or, at any rate, it still isn’t logged. I e-mailed last week to ask about it, and they haven’t gotten back to me, so I’m going to call tomorrow. I’m afraid of seeming like a pest, but I really want to make sure this is sorted out!

So I called today. First, they told me that I should fax a copy, because if it wasn’t listed by now, they probably didn’t have it. There’s not a fax machine at my dorm, and it’s quite far removed from the main campus, so I called my mom to ask if she could log on to the Common App. for me, print a copy of the supplement, and fax it from her workplace. We were on the phone for quite a while, as she was having difficulties getting it to print and to do so properly.

When we finally hung up, I saw that I had missed a call from Smith while we were on the phone. So I called them back and they told me that they had, in fact, found my supplement and that I was all set!
