Hey, is there a Smith alumni/student/person who had an interview here who could tell me what they ask in the interview? My interview is in a few days, and i am really nervous. I really want to go to Smith!!!!! So please help me..

I had my interview today. :D
Don't stress, BELIEVE ME. My interviewer was really personable and funny, and our interview was more of a conversation--she didn't even have a pad and pen. We just talked.
The only formal questions I were asked were:
1. How did you find out about Smith/ What made you apply?
and
2. What do you think you'll try to major in?
and
3. Do you have any questions for me? (TIP: Have questions. :) )

Everything else just flowed naturally. Don't stress out about, it, really. Mine was fantastic, and I'm sure yours will be too!
Let me know if you ever need anything! I want to be a Smithie, too! :)

They'll probably ask you basic questions like "What do you want to do with your life?", "What are your favorite hobbies?" and other usual questions that the applications don't ask to try and get to know you more than as just another statistic for the admissions. No college wants just a bunch of numbers and statistics sitting in their classes, they could create robots to do that. They want people that add to the college community and bring personality to their college. Just show off what makes you different and shine and I'm sure you'll be fine. :D Don't sweat it, just be yourself. (Please take this with a grain of salt, I haven't been interviewed for Smith although I have had several other interviews and they all went great and were pretty much the same.)

I am a Smith alum and interview prospective students in my hometown. I agree with the suggestion to have some suggestions prepared. I ask prospective students how they found out about Smith, what made them decide to apply, what they hope to get involved in there (clubs, sports, religious life, study abroad, different majors, etc), and what they like doing now. I ask them about their thoughts about single-sex education and about attending college several hundred miles away. My main goal is to try and write a report afterwards that tells the admissions office things they might not otherwise know from a student's application--to that end, I often end the interview by asking "is there anything that wasn't included or emphasized in your application that you'd like Smith to know about you?"

good luck--the interviewers aren't trying to be intimidating and i'm sure you'll do great!

one other suggestion--send a thank you note to your interviewer afterwards! I think email is totally appropriate for this (though the older your interviewer is, the more likely she'd prefer a hand-written card instead, if you know her address).

Thank you all for your help. I really appreciate it.. Smith has been my dream for God knows how long..

Stacy, thank you for for suggestion. I will email my interviewer a note, she seems pretty young.;)

does anyone know if there's still time to schedule an interview? I've visited the school once, but it's quite a long drive. If I want one with an alumna in my area, do I contact the school so they can arrange something or just contact her myself? Thanks.

Smith will contact you after you apply.

What you should do is contact the admissions office at Smith and they will give you all the info you need on setting up interviews with alums or on campus.
