Smith Transfer Decisions 2018

Accepted two days ago! Third year California Community College student. Still waiting for my FA package.

Going to CC was the BEST decision I’ve ever made, and I’m glad it’s paying off.

i was accepted as a transfer and i am so excited about smith!! are any of you all going to the open campus event?

I was also accepted!

I submitted my application in early April. Is there still any chance of getting in?

Isn’t the Transfer application deadline February 1 for September? Otherwise, they’ll probably bump you to January admittance.

According to the web, the preferred application deadline is February 1, but they do accept application and supporting materials until May 15th.

They’ll let you know if you’re in by the end of May/beginning of June @Vvvvvvictoria. They just have to wait and see who’s going to decline their offer of admission before they can move to the second wave of applicants.

I just called the admissions office today and they told me that the decisions will not be released on a rolling basis throughout May, and that everyone who applied after the priority deadline of Feb 1 should hear back on June 1.

I was accepted yesterday! I applied after their preferred Feb 1st deadline and much closer to the May 15th final date. I just wanted to throw in here–for anyone who is applying to transfer in the next years and reading this–that the deadline for Smith really isn’t all that important, while at Mount Holyoke (with the similar two-deadline shinanigans) it does. Don’t trust the common apps deadlines…
I looked into the Smith deadline and they told me it didn’t matter, even asked them in person; mistakenly, I assumed MoHo was similar. Since by the time I found out it was too late, I didn’t bother looking into it farther. Despite being accepted at Wellesley and Smith, my application was labeled “incomplete” at MoHo. Anyway, MoHo has a rolling decision, a fact that I was not informed of on a tour, admission information session, lunch visit, or an hour of just hanging around the admission office. As an only child and first gen, I’m not sure I would have taken the importance of that fact seriously even if I had known, but that’s beside the point.
Basically, I just wanna say that if you’re interested in the seven sisters as a transfer, take MoHo’s date seriously. But Smith is less serious with their two deadlines. When I emailed Smith back in March they said: “In the end, the only difference is the date that you will learn your decision.”
