D22 waitlisted at Smith. My question is , if I can decrease my business expenses significantly thereby increasing my income starting July 2022, should I let smith FA and admissions know this?? Will having about 10k more to pay per year help her chances of off the WL ? Any other tips?

College counselor and teachers love her
(She was WL at Vassar as well, accepted Oberlin, rejected Barnard Bowdoin snd Brown).
I would have her focus on the schools that accepted her because getting off the waitlist, especially if one needs FA is a longshot.
While she can/should do whatever Smith asks to remain on the waitlist (LoCI? additional teacher rec?), I don’t know whether being able to contribute an additional $10K will help. That could be something your D adds in her LoCI, but again it’s best if she psychologically starts processing Smith as a no, and focuses on the schools that have accepted her.
Is Oberlin the only acceptance? Is it affordable?
Ty. There are other acceptances SUNY CUNY and one out of state state school.
Is there still a chance on Smith’s waitlist? I’m praying everyday. Are they offering Spring/January admissions this year?
