Recently went to admit days at a LAC in Ohio and was surprised at the number of smokers! Thought the kids would be smarter than that. What's the smoking (cigarettes) situation at Carleton? Some campuses are entirely smoke free, and in others it's just all the buildings. Appreciate any insight.

All the buildings are smoke-free, and there’s a certain area around them that is supposed to be smoke-free, too (20 feet, I think?).

I don’t think Carleton has as many smokers as some of the “edgier” LACs. Basically, it really, REALLY sucks to be a smoker at Carleton in the winter. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that some students have quit for that reason alone.

Was the Ohio LAC Kenyon? That wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard about Kenyon having a larger proportion of smokers.

Yep, Kenyon.
