<p>Is smoking in dorms allowed in the majority of colleges?</p>

<p>wasn't allowed at my school, but didn't stop me from smoking(not cigarettes) in my dorm daily..</p>
<p>I stayed in my buddie's dorm at Michigan State for a night and it was allowed.. but it is the last time it was allowed. I've also stayed at my buddie's where it wasn't allowed and we just cracked the window and put a fan up. If your roommate is a non smoker then its pretty rude and you probably shouldn't..</p>
<p>Probably not allowed at most places, it would be a fire hazard.</p>
<p>If it is allowed where ever you go to school, be sure to do it such that other people don't have to smell it.</p>
<p>yeah, smoking in dorms is no longer allowed at Michigan state when I will be there this fall :) And I'm pretty sure my roommate doesn't smoke, yay!</p>

<p>Once I was looking out the hallway window and saw a couple basically hanging out of their window smoking (4th floor too....).</p>
<p>You could if you didn't have a smoke detector. Except the problem with that is that removing a smoke detector means you're committing a felony.</p>

<p>Why would you smoke inside? It makes your room smell bad. Just take a walk outside. Unless you're ashamed of the habit.</p>

<p>We have smoking and non-smoking dorms.</p>
<p>All of the dorms are non-smoking here, though for some reason they still ask us for our smoking preferences.</p>
<p>^because if your roommate is a pack a day smoker you might not have smoke in your room, but all of his stuff will reak of it.</p>

<p>every dorm building i lived in had an overhang at one of the doors to smoke under when it was ****ty outside. and my roommate and i smoked cigars in our room for the better part of two years before we got caught...if you open a window, get a fan, and put a towel under the door, you can smoke pretty much anything in your room as long as you don't mind the smell</p>
<p>most of the dorms have outdoor balconies & stairwells, so my boyfriend and his friends used to smoke cigarettes outside and no one would say anything..by the end of the year, they even felt comfortable enough to smoke a bowl on the stairwell--sketchyy haha</p>
