My son just received his invitation for the Hunt Scholarship. He isnā€™t home tonight so he isnā€™t aware yet. But this Momma is super proud. Oh and the notice came via email.

Congratulations on the invites for Presidentā€™s and Hunt! Our DD did not get an email for Presidentā€™s and sadly will not be attending SMU. She got Provost and BBA Scholar, but still to much tuition. Congrats again to the invitees. All should be proud.

My son has not received an email regarding Presidentā€™s. Assuming that he did not make it to the interviews, but do they inform you if you are not invited?

Has anyone heard from or been selected for the Dedman College Scholars Program? The essays for Presidents Scholars were for this one as well for my child. Thank you

Seems like an email would be sent to those that applied for the Presidentā€™s scholarship but did not receive it. No communication yet for my DD22. Maybe they will send something next week. Most scholarship programs like to notify recipients first and then notify those that did not receive it.

I believe their website indicates only those being invited to interviews will be notified. Like others, my D22 did not get an email, and likely will be unable to continue considering SMU. With her post-grad plans, I need to not commit that much financially for undergrad, even with the generous scholarships she has already been offered from SMU and Lyle School of Engineering. Best of luck to all as we continue this journey.

Beside OleSoul (BTW - Congrats), can anyone else confirm invite to Presidents? I have only heard of one person so far on any thread. Hoping there is more invites to come.

My son got the presidential invite via email last night.

My child had an interview and has been notified that they were accepted to Dedman Scholars, but has not heard from Presidentā€™s.

This evening, the email came out letting students know that they were not chosen to advance. Good luck to all who made it to the finalist round!

Iā€™m confused - people are talking about essays and applications for the Presidentā€™s scholarship.
There was no application for the Presidentā€™s Scholarship - you were just encouraged to apply before November 1st, but all applicants who applied by 01/15 were eligible for Presidentā€™s Scholarship. Finalists to be selected for interview in February with Interviews in March. I never expected my D22 to receive a notification of rejection, only selection if she was selected as a finalist to be interviewed. My D22 has not received an email notifying her that she is a finalist, which is ok, but she did not receive an email letting her know she was not chosen to advance to the finalist round as stated either.

My daughter received an invitation in December to apply for the Presidentā€™s Scholarship. That invitation included a link to additional essays that were due in early January. She was notified earlier this week that she was not selected to interview.

Ahā€¦ ok, now that makes sense. Yeah, they donā€™t explain that part of the process at all on the website. Although it actually says, ā€œAll students accepted to the university who meet the stated requirements will be considered for the Presidentā€™s Scholar award.ā€ So, if your daughter wasnā€™t ED, can you assume she is accepted? Regardless, congratulations on making it further in the process, that will probably help with their other scholarships.

My daughter was accepted EA, and her invitation to apply for the Presidentā€™s Scholarship came a short time after her acceptance. I had no idea that extra essays were involved, but the invitation to apply outlined the process. While I wish that she was selected to interview, I am happy that they let the students who were not selected know.

Congratulations to all who were selected to interview!

So does it mean that if you submitted your application early and you were not invited to write the extra essays, then you just did not make the first cut for the Presidential scholarship process?
