When is financial aid released?
Daughter accepted for spring term, but no mention of financial aid or scholarships in the acceptance letter.
I got in for Spring too what the heck does that mean? Is it like getting capped at UT or PSA at TAMU?
I don’t think so. University of Miami did this with some fully admitted students too. I’ll say it for the millionth time - this is such a bizarre year for college admissions.

I was also accepted for Spring 2022. Does anyone know if it is possible to be admitted to the Fall 2021? I almost feel it would have been better to be waitlisted

A lot for Spring. Not a terrible option after reading the brochure. How does all Soring admits feel about it? I have to choose Baylor Fall admission vs this option. Any thoughts?

Wow, many for Spring 2022. Below is part of the admission letter for my D. She got 30K/y merit-scholarship and the need-base scholarship is coming soon. Good luck everyone!
“Congratulations! I am pleased to offer you admission to Southern Methodist University for Fall 2021.”

“You indicated on your application that you are interested in pursuing a degree within the Cox School of Business. As you are aware, students are considered for direct entry into the Cox School of Business. You will receive your Cox admission decision in the next week.”

We just checked and my daughter got in for Fall (she was a dual admit for Art). It is her first choice, but it did not mention any scholarships and without it, we would not be able to afford it. Perhaps the financial aid will help, but the other private schools that have accepted her are basically able to cover tuition with their awarded academic scholarships and combined financial aid. Are scholarships awarded at the same time as the acceptance letter? Hopefully she will get a merit scholarship from Meadows. I hear those come out after every applicant has been reviewed.
Yes, in my D’s letter, Provost Scholarship is offered.

I got into Baylor too, but I believe SMU is a better fit for me. I do think starting in fall is important, but if you believe you’ll be happier at SMU then it is better to just start in spring. SMU has a lot of different options about what to do during your fall semester. I believe you can take a gap semester, or study domestically or internationally. Just weigh out your options!
