SMU or UTD? Advice wanted

I’m having a difficult time in choosing between SMU or UTD (Richardson).
I was hoping to get an opinion on your choice if you had these benefits that come along with the school:

I know it’s quite late to be deciding but SMU didn’t complete the process of my FAFSA and CSS profile till last Friday because it had to go the extra step in being reviewed by the Government.

-Majoring in business.
-Asian
-Middle class. Possibly in the middle-low.

SMU:
A tuition that is reasonable enough for my parents to consider this school (My mother has this school as her choice but my father doesn’t mind either).
Better business school than UTD’s.
Has a study abroad program connected to Yonsei University (Part off the top three schools in South Korea–SKY) and Sophia University (Tokyo, Japan).
Most likely better internship as well as better pay.

UTD:
The tuition is covered, other than the (un)subsidized loans and federal work study.
Has a study abroad program connected to Korea University (Another of one of the top three schools in South Korea–SKY-- but lower in world ranking than Yonsei).
Asian population percentage is high (Not that that’s a BIG factor in choosing).

The reason why I’m having such a hard time is because UTD’s tuition will be covered for the most part.

ALSO, if anyone has an idea on what SMU’s Opportunity Scholarship means, PLEASE let me know.
How are the dorms if anyone is attending or has attended? Are they first come first serve or randomly assigned?

Thank you for your time in reading this!

@yumilicious7 I agree with your mom - my vote is SMU. My son attended SMU and loved it. He is now working at the #1 software co. in the world. SMU offered him so many things - from TA, internships, co-ops, masters, research, etc.). SMU is ranked as a top 20 business school which is also amazing.

Reach out to your admissions officer and ask what the Opportunity scholarship is. They will be able to explain it. As far as the dorms, they were first come first serve when my son was there but they may have changed that. They’ve added sophomore housing so they have doubled the dorm size. All the dorms are really nice at SMU so it isn’t an issue. You can send me a PM if I can be of further help. Good luck and CONGRATs on getting into SMU.

@newjersey17 thank you very much for your reply! Amazing how your son is working at the #1 software company, congratulations! My family and I have recently deposited our money for the orientation and such and look forward to spending the next four years at SMU. I will definitely keep in mind to reach out to you if I have any further questions, thank you again!

Congrats!!! How exciting… Definitely reach out to me if I can be of any assistance.
