SMU Regular Decision '22

Hi all,
I applied to SMU (regular decision) as I wanted to include my fall semester grades and new class rank. I have already been accepted to Baylor and need to commit to a university (Baylor, SMU, or TCU) by May 1st. Does anyone know when regular decision acceptance will be released? Also, if accepted, is financial aid awarded in the acceptance packet or does that come later?
Thanks.

Hey there!
To my knowledge regular decisions usually go out in mid March- so you will have time before May 1st deadline.
Also, scholarship will come with that decision at the same time!

choosingjoy, thank you for that info. I am a little nervous as SMU is more of a “reach” school for me, but really hoping I am accepted! thanks again :))

So D was accepted tonight (yay!) after being deferred from EA. Letter doesn’t say anything about scholarship money, and other schools have put that prominently in their acceptance letters. I am assuming that means there isn’t any forthcoming?

@UTSquared Congratulations to your daughter! I would think it would be in the physical acceptance packet that is mailed to you, but I do not know for sure.

@UTSquared Hi, SMU University Scholar info was in my son’s acceptance letter. Hopefully, other scholarship info will be on its way to your daughter.

@ag2018 and @finalfour388 Thanks and congratulations to your daughter and son!

Congrats everyone! Does anyone know when we can expect to hear about Dedman scholars?

In at SMU but for spring admission. 1190 sat, 3.66 gpa. Out of state.

Well sadly the acceptance package came and there was no scholarship or other tuition breaks offered. Can’t imagine we will qualify for need-based aid since FAFSA thinks our EFC should be 55% of our taxable income, so it doesn’t look like SMU will be in our future. I really do like SMU a lot and think it would be a good fit for my daughter but I can’t justify spending twice what it will cost to send her to one of the state flagship universities she has also gotten into.

is there an SMU groupme??
