Yes, claire, it was idle for 4 months. But MY point in posting wasn’t to request that others let this thread die already. THAT was the ironic part.

I didn’t accuse you of being dishonest. I actually said that I DOUBTED you were being dishonest! My guess was that you were out of touch with those who DID have a problem with parking.

I’ve read a handful of your posts that were, imo, more salesman-like than factual. Perhaps that’s how you really feel about everything you write about. My best guess is that you DO feel that way about everything you write about. But, while I love your school and would recommend it to lots of different people, I feel spurred to comment otherwise when I see a bold statement of “fact” that simply wasn’t or isn’t true for everybody. Like, “Parking was a non-issue.” Not for you. Not for the people in your classes. But for LOTS of people. You did not speak of your personal experience, claire, you spoke for all. And that’s why I spoke up.

I’ve followed your posts since 2011. I usually don’t post anything but here it is. Sounds like you still have a sour grape in your mouth since your A&M son didn’t get that scholarship that you were hoping for. Don’t worry, I felt the same way when #1 son was applying and didn’t get that big scholarship. He is happy and doing well with the school he’s going to now. BTW I am a proud 82’ SMU alumnus and son #2 is heading to Lyle Eng. Fall 2013 with a nice package. John Angle and Clairepeep, thank you for the great advices. John, looking forward to meeting you this fall and congrat on your student body leadership position.

Zflygirl, I don’t think you have your facts straight. My A&M son got a great package from SMU. He just got a better package to A&M. (And he decided their engineering school was a better match for what he wanted.). I also have an SMU son with an outstanding scholarship package. No sour grapes here. I stated what I responded to – salesman-like answers that don’t tell the full story. CC’s not as useful if people don’t tell the full story.
