smudging [bad?]

I took three Subject Tests last weekend and remember that there were a few ugly eraser smudgemarks (since I couldn't use my wonderful mechanical pencil). I tried frantically to erase them as best I could before time ran out. On the Biology test I actually erased the ink off of the answer sheet.

Does anybody know how sensitive those machines are?

This better not hurt my score. I hurt it enough on my own and don't really need a couple of smudges to make matters worse.

lol, you can always have them hand graded (i think?) if you suspect the machine caused a few errors

Does that cost money?

yes (10char)

i think its expensive ($ 50?), check with CB though
