What snack is energizing AND helps you focus AND won't get stuck in your teeth AND will help prevent my usual section 8/9 crash?

I really don't care about nutrition right now.

Anything else that will bring out the best in us test takers this Saturday? Breathing and focus exercises? Any thing you do-- maybe bang head against wall or scream into pillow?

Something that is not too sugary.

What? I was going to bring chocolate bars! Sugar = good!

sugar is good for short term energy, but don’t eat a chocolate bar in the earlier sections to avoid crashing. I guess bring a granola bar or chewy bar, which has some sugar but isn’t pure chocolate. Also, I would try to avoid drinking too much water during breaks because you may have to go to the bathroom before the next break. A full bladder can definitely distract you from the test.

In general, the snacks you eat aren’t really going to make a difference. I didn’t eat or drink anything during the last SAT and I did very well so I don’t think it matters much. Just eat whatever you feel like, and chew gum during the test if you want.

String cheese, granola bars, trail mix. A bagel sandwich with peanut butter, meat or cheese on it, cut into quarters. Anything not too sugary and with some protein is good. And something you can eat quickly on short breaks. Bring one water bottle. Avoid anything sticky if you don’t get a chance to wash your hands after the snack. Somebody else on another thread posted that no sticky stuff hint!

Almonds, or any nuts for that matter.

Plan: Almonds in the breaks, water, and some chocolate near the end (during the last break). Gum throughout?

D took a bag of almonds last year and a small water bottle ( so she wouldn’t drink too much)

they were not allowed to chew gum during the test. (not sure if that was a location rule or college board thing?)

5 hour energy. Unless you have severe ADHD (but then, you will be consuming concentration pills)
On a somewhat related story: One of my friends has pretty bad ADHD, and he took a concentration pill right before the test and scored a 2290 without studying at all. He is a pretty naturally smart kid though.

i would NOT recommend 5 hour energy.
