Is it possible to have something snail mailed to a dorm address, such as when ordering textbooks online or getting membership cards, or do dorms not have mailboxes?

Yes. You need a way to get care packages from family or friends!

Here’s one way to find this.
Go to the housing web page
[Division of Housing and Food Service - DHFS Home](<a href=“UHD Homepage | University Housing and Dining”>UHD Homepage | University Housing and Dining)
and then choose
“Living On Campus”

From there, choose “Longhorn Parents,” and you will see the question
“I am trying to send a package to my student. What is the address to their residence hall?” and there is a link to each dorm’s address. (Your room number is your box number in the mail room.)

Thanks. You’re a lifesaver! The mail room is a room in the dorm where I can check regularly for mail?

Yes, on the first floor of the dorm. The honors dorms are connected to each other and share a mutual mail room. Jester has its own mailroom; Kinsolving has its own mailroom.

Tell people to send you home-made cookies. College students need sustenance. ;)

Each room has its own mailbox, at least in the honors quad, and packages are left at the dorm’s front desk and you get an email telling you to pick them up.

For example, to send mail to Carothers hall you would send the mail to

Name
2501 Whitis Ave
XXX Carothers
Austin TX, 78705

where XXX is the room number.
