Yeah, California isn't really all that exciting.

I mean, nice place, don't get me wrong, but it's a bit boring.

At least where I live.

I mean, nice place, don't get me wrong, but it's a bit boring.

At least where I live.

I truly hate CA.

I'd swap boring suburban Maryland with boring San Jose any day. You all don't suffer through the ordeal that is a Mid-Atlantic July and August. Or the inconsistency of weather here in general. Two weeks ago, we averaged in the 50s, last week in the 30s. Last night it snowed a foot and a half, but on Friday, we're supposed to hit 60 (and drop to 43 the next day)!

You also have palm trees. Well, so does Florida, but they get hurricanes.

kchen, that's because you live in san jose ;). it's basically all electronics companies, some expressways...the Richmond/Berkeley/Oakland side of things is plenty exciting ;). La Jolla [I'm at ucsd now] is a bit tame though =/

And hahaha...I used to live in Suburban MD, actually I technically still do (grew up in norcal, hs in MD...). CA > MD...except maybe in schools (MCPS >>> most CA publics).

We don't have palm trees. We have really old, dying or dead pine trees that, honestly, look hideous. We have an oversupply of old people too. Our main import is scooters and main export: lettuce. I live in boring Monterey, by the way. The traffic's been terrible for the past week due to the AT&T Pro-Am. I went and watched from the golf course right behind my school, didn't even see any of the famous people, just some old people.

I would MUCH rather live in boring suburban MD. At least it's the east coast. West coast people are kinda eccentric.

What, haven't made friends with the seals at the aquarium yet?

:(

I went to the Aquarium. Looked more like a fish tank though, compared to the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT. I visited once, and am not going back again. I did make friends with some of the deer around campus though. And my neighbor's cat that likes to sleep at my house.

Palm trees? Maybe that's in the South.

We have a different type of inconsistency. One minute it would be windy, the next minute it's raining. And then it clears up after fifteen minutes. We probably don't get hail, mudslides, fires, or earthquakes often, but they do happen unexpectedly.

Yes, there are a bunch of software companies, so plenty of engineers in the area. There's a boring aspect.

At least I live in a place that made the top spot in safest big city. That's good to know.

okay yeah some parts of L.A are great though, but the weather sucks right now, and i bought a new blazer I can't wear a blazer in spring it's too hot. But seriously i'd love to have snow, to have snow days off! at our school the policy is that if it reaches to 98 or 97 degrees then we don't have to go, but their excuse to keep us imprisoned is that we have air conditioning so why leave?, i hate the system :(

My grandmother is still out and Cali on vacation and she was telling me about how all these people were watching the news and were beyond belief at 20" of snow. They were like, everything will be shut down for days. And my grandma went, try a few hours. School was delayed today, had around 16"

I live in NYC, and we still had school even though this was the snowstorm that produced the most snow ever.

Everywhere else has off except us! Gah! I didn't go to school anyway..I am not waiting on the subway for 4 hours to get to school and back.

i live in beautiful southern california and its sunny and about 80 degrees right now. mmmm.
