I live in California...and well, all the top LACs and Ivy's kind of scare me with the abundant snow. I know of all the Claremont colleges, do I have other options? Are there places that it doesn't get cold outside of California?

How about Furman in SC, Southwestern outside of Austin, Texas?

Trinity in San Antonio; St John's in Santa Fe.

Will these have a deep south feel? It seems as though a Californian would have trouble assimilating...

Davidson? Washington and Lee? Richmond?

Santa Fe gets snow. A decent bit of it, actually.

If you are scared of snow, there aren't a whole lot of good options for you, besides the claremont colleges

University of Puget Sound is a pretty good LAC, but its also in a lousy town.

Sewanee, Rhodes, Eckerd, Birmingham Southern, Millsaps

New College is in Sarasota, Fl. and has gotten alot of good press.

Davidson

Sewanee gets pretty darn cold. So does Rhodes.

Rice is the place for you. Californians aren't shot- at least not too often. As long as you bring a pickup truck with you.
