Okay I know mostly everyone's gone but there's like an insane amount of snow right now. You'd think it was New England!

Are you still there or just watching the news?

I beat it out of C’ville yesterday to get ahead of the storm. We have a foot here in NoVa but it is supposed to snow like this until tomorrow.

19 inches

I’m right here in C’ville…

I’m stuck here too. I’m headed up to Philly when it stops in both places, so I won’t be escaping snow even when I do leave. :

snow buildup on my window (now an inch from the top of that first pane) - shows how much wind is blowing, i am on the 2nd floor.

i applaud you for leaving your room. i am staying nice and warm inside with my college inn leftovers.
we don’t have that many more minutes of sunlight and it’s still snowing. i don’t know what to do with myself. haha.

Wow that’s probably more snow than C-ville has seen in the past 2-4 years combined!!! It’s probably taking a huge toll on the 2-3 snow plows that the county owns! :p

Come out and join us. It really only *looks *cold. Promise!

No joke. I haven’t seen or heard a single snow plow on the streets today.

I need some hot food. Is there any place in charlotesville still delivering?

When I was out earlier the bars on the corner were open and Little Johns was packed with customers. Harris Teater is also open.

This sucks.I’m scared of leaving and finding that my door isn’t opening or something.I already have a cold and am probably risking pneumonia if i go out

i know the subway on the corner was only open until 4, same with crossroads. vending machines? get a mug and drink some hot water? :

Think places will be delivering by tomorrow?

well the snow has stopped so if they start plowing they will certainly want to make up business. i am planning to try and go see how things are in the am, if i can drive to the grocery store that would be nice too, but if i can just drive to the newcomb garage from emmet/ivy that would also be nice (wouldn’t be surprised if that ends up not happening until late am).

Hopefully. I really need some fresh, warm food. All i have here is junk food and packaged food.

i know the feeling. friday night hit and i had to make myself push away the thought that grapes would be nice. i hope i can get over to barrack’s tomorrow.

I haven’t been around here for a bit, but I’m still around C’ville. I haven’t seen this much snow since when I was in high school. 14th/15th St are both icing over because there were quite a bit of dumb people out trying to drive today. Hopefully they’ll get a plow through tomorrow some time, but I doubt I’ll be going anywhere till Monday

Shoe, Dont rush to leave. NoVa is not ready to accept you and even major roads are bad. Just to give you an idea, Tysons Corner Mall closed at 2 the Saturday before Christmas. We shoveled out yesterday, driveway, walkway and even the decks. It wasn’t a waste of time, because the snow was up to the windows and doors, but it is all back as if we didn’t do a thing. It must have stopped snowing around midnight so the roads should be plowed some time today. A snow plow made three passes on my street yesterday but it is back to about 10 inches.

Hazel my cousins live right near the blue route which I know you use. If I get any good information I will pass it on. I saw news coverage of I95 yesterday and it was the worst I’ve ever seen it.

Yeah I do live near the end of the blue route. I’m staying here today again. It’s always about the other people on the road. But I do need to make a trip to the grocery store still, or at bare minimum the 7-11 near emmet/ivy or the Corner if the garage is too bad to get out. I need some food.

It’s melting! If you’re out walking stay away from buildings. I keep hearing huge crashes of snow falling off the roof of my dorm.
