how long are yours? I'm just wondering. I'm expecting mine to be probably in the 500-700 word range, but I have no idea because I haven't even started it. I don't get any ideas for a topic from the options they give you. Anyone else struggling with just finding a topic?

I hope you finish your app tomorrow. Princeton asks your app to be in by the 15th. I’m not entirely sure why, but it can only help to respect their wishes. Also, try not to go over 500 words, they say to write one that’s about 500 words - treat it as a cap. I wrote mine about a lesson I learned from school (a worldly one) and how it changed me, in response to question 3.

“We encourage students to submit their portion of the application by [December 15, 2009], if possible.”

Princeton encourages you to submit your app by the fifteen, but it is not a requirement or a wish per se. But as the last poster said, try not to go over 500 words. Mine is about 490.

what if you just can´t take anything out anymore?? i cut mine down to 560 words, you think it´ll be a problem. i mean, i don´t want them to think, ok this one obviously doesn´t stick to assignments… but it is good the way it is, and i mean, what difference can 50 words make??

Mine is ~550 words. My counselor says that anything below 750-800 is fine. Submit anything above at your own risk, only if your essay’s phenomenal.

mine is exactly a page/ 629 words for question one (influential person). i am using the same one for penn.
