So after our AP Exam...

The AP Comparative Government, it was discovered that about half of the sophomore class skipped half of school to go IHop or stay home then come right when exams come, when we weren't allowed to. Our sophomore class is already pretty bad, as we've been called lame-ass and stupid by a majority of teachers, administrators, IB coordinator, etc. So are sophomores meant to take AP Exams?

HAHA, no worries. I skipped half of school on my AP exam too. I still got a 5 though. My sophomore class was pretty lame too. No one showed up to his or her classes for the first half of the day.

At my school, sophomores are only allowed to take one AP class, which I am passionately against. I think sophomore should take more AP exams so they would know to be less lazy junior year. (If you think your sophomore class is bad, you should see how my junior class was).

Our school lets us skip morning classes when we have afternoon exams, though we have to go to afternoon classes for morning exams. =/ (And sophomores and freshman aren’t allowed to take any at all… unless they skip a few grades of math and take AP calc, but that’s like, 1 kid every other year.)

Last year (though this was at my previous HS), I was allowed to skip the rest of the day even if I had an AP exam that lasted only for the morning.

In our school, everyone who takes an AP test is excused for the whole day of the test.

lol we weren’t. One of the teachers though suggested it against school code, and for those who came in, he brought pancakes for them. Sadly I have the other government teacher. Yeah, we’re allowed only 1 AP Class, and it’s our transition into IB.

Here, unless our exam is on Monday morning, we get a half day off before each exam. But, when we have two exams in a row (or 4 in my case, with Phys C, Phys C, Chem, and Psych) we still only get one half day for all of them. No matter what, we are supposed to be in school after the exam.

I only have one real afternoon class, and most teachers let you chill if you’ve just taken an exam, so I don’t mind too much.

Most of the sophomores, or at least all of the ones I know take APUSH. A considerable number also take AP Latin. Those who don’t have some requirement to fill (eg: gym) or don’t take an elective like band or orchestra sometimes take three, with the final one being a social studies course (usually Art Hist or Human Geo) but that’s rare.

Actually, after my AP exams, I still have work to do…In APUSH we’re doing a “Greatest American Debate”. As the name says, it’s arguing who is the greatest American. In AP Eng, we’re reading what the Brit Lit kids are reading…

We only get off enough time to actually take the exam. Even if we finish halfway through an hour we must go for the rest of that hour.

ah wow. that sucks. One AP Gov teacher brought in Pancakes for his 1st period. And this teachers lives 3 houses down the street from me. And I have the other, crappy, teacher.

We got bagels but it wasn’t during class, we had to come in early. lol

Those were some good bagels.

We’re excused from all our classes that day but we are encouraged to go to any AP classes still preparing for the exam

Wow, your schools are nice. Ours is strict as can be, except for IB exams. Man they give them pizza and subs to eat. People taking AP exams get jack.

Wow, my school’s sophomore class is also worthless (not saying you specifically are just overall not good). How about that?

lol our Juniors are super juniors however.

At my school you’re excused from all your classes for the day if you’re taking AP exams. So you can go home right after morning ones or show up at 11:30 for 12 pm ones. Sucks for you guys!

My friends and I took double lunch today (which I will eventually get in trouble for tomorrow morning). We just hang out in the lunchroom for the entire first lunch and then being the brain-dead people that no one thought about actually going outside to the mall and getting food there. Then magically, we’re like, “why are staying in the lunchroom? Let’s go the mall!” half way through our second lunch.

So, we speed-walked a whole 10 minutes to the mall. Ordered A LOT of food (Taco Bell, Burger King, some Italian restaurant, McDonald etc.) and sat down to eat. Eventually, someone takes out their cell phone and realizes that we only have 5 minutes to get back to class. Panic - much?

We ran. FOR OUR LIVES. I made in 12 seconds in before the last bell with a wrapped chalupa in one hand and people looked at me funny.

I’m pretty surprised that no other sophomore did that. Our sophomore class has a pretty bad rep for cutting class - so I guess no one was audacious enough today.

I’m excused for my whole APES test, but thats because I have to haul my ass to another school.

Usually at my school we have to stay the other half of the day.

Same here. Excused for the rest of the day after the tests. Its amazing especially when you have like 5 AP tests.

OH MY GOD THEY WEREN’T ALLOWED TO!?!?!?! You were the tattle-tale in Kindergarten.
