so am i basically rejected

well its hard to explain, I just LOVE THEM, since my sophmore year i have been obsesed i collect UCI memrobelia i have clippings of when UCI has been mentioned in the news and stuff, i even painted an ant eater on my car and ive been wearing UCI clothing to school for the past 2 months so i will look like a retard if i get rejected.

wow UCI you are really enamored with this school. i'd give u my acceptance gives you my acceptance (i definitely do not want to go there, i don't want to be in asian fob land, haha, and i hated the campus. my parents made me apply. but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it's nice to see someone so excited about college)

for reference, i'm not that stellar and my gpa is def not that high:
660v630m (1290) / 740 writing / 620 math IC / 650 US History / 3.75 UC gpa

how hard is it to get accepted as a bio major? and if UCSB invited me to that "high-achieving applicant" reception, wouldn't UCI like me too? aren't they kinda on the same level? but bio is really good at UCI, so I dont know. and UCI already sent me those FAFSA verification papers, maybe they send them to the rejected people too? i know UCR only sends them to the admitted students.

Does the high-achieving applicant reception imply acceptance newp?

"i love UCI i love everything about them i like that their dorm rooms are named after the lord of the rings i like that their mascot is an anteater (how original) i love the fact that its close to the beach i love the fact that the guy who wrote schinlers list graduated from there i love the fact that two of its professors won nobel prizes i love the fact that its a top ranked public university i love the fact that there are so many asains i love the fact that they're division one i love the fact that it was built in 1954 i eat sleep and drink UCI i only drink from my UCI coffe mug i already bought a UCI lisence plate and spent over $100 on UCI clothing."

I don't love the fact that you don't use punctuation :(.

UCSB says it has nothing to do with getting accepted, but the Chancellor really announces at the reception that we're all accepted. So i guess i'm in at UCSB.

Jubei im in a hurry when i write its not an essay its a post so please stop acting like the douche bag that you are.

So I guess I'm in at UCSB. I guess thats a load off my shoulders.

congrats (filler)

Ahh! The pain of using commas!!

hehe, didn't mean to be a douche. Just that my writing suffers when I read forums.

ok sorry for calling u a douche

All good :). But that 3.3 gpa thing hurt :(

truth sucks

harshness.

hey if this helps, i got both my UCR and my UCSC acceptances in the mail before it updated on the site.

...appeals can work...really. Last year my daughter appealed twice and it worked...twice. She clairified her SAT scores...quite low due to a learning disability (documented), she reiterated her strengths emphasing again why they were importent to her success at school. Although it took an extra semester she is attending her first choice school.

Although you should never stalk admissions people there are routes that you can take that may help you to achieve your goal. Although it may take a semester or two keep trying.

uci is pretty sweet, but still, dont get too set on it
i live pretty close and the area can be somewhat boring at times

yeah.. i can't wait!! UCI is one of my top choices and I haven't heard from it :(

omfg fei, i'm applying to CompE and my GPA is lower than yours was. Any idea why you got turned down?

What are your stats coolman?

3.5 UC GPA (somewhere around there)
1350 SAT (620 V, 730 M)
770 Writing, 740 Math IIC, 620 Physics

7 Honors classes, 7 AP classes, 3 college courses.

School is pretty competitive. I think like 30 people from my school (Irvine High School) went to UCI last year.
