You're case will be interesting. Low GPA but strong SATs, especially IIs which count most. Are you in top 10%?

I have absolutely no idea.

hmm. what about someone with loow gpa but high sats?
3.3 uc gpa ( i think)
1390, 740writing,750spanish,720math

Extracurricular activities can boost up your chances, too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think UCs have gotten better regarding ECs. They want more of their applicants (and admits, I hope) to be well-rounded.

I'm getting to that point of being over this whole thing. This whole stressing out thing just isn't cutting it for me and I still need to maintain a good GPA to insure my spot at UCI or UCSC... because I'm headed to one of those schools if I'm not accepted @ UCSD or UoP.

Hang in there. March will be over before we know it. And then we can tell the UC system to eat ***** and die for all the rejections they sent out.

prolly cause I only had one EC...you should get in coolman...good luck.

i'm so freaking nervous. i applied to both irvine & santa cruz and i they still haven't posted my admissions status for either school. i've pretty much given up hope on irvine, it would be a dream come true to get accepted there but comparing my stats to everyone else who got in, don't really see it happening. someone please tell me the chances i have of getting into ucsc

gpa: 3.68
sat 1: 1240
sat2: ack they were so horrible, don't laugh! 600/530/550
i'd say i had a pretty good amount of ecs (jv & varsity sports, piano for like 10 years now, volunteering, had a job, etc). i'm a ca resident. plus i got to a private college prep. high school if that makes any difference.

well were in the same boat, oh by the way, i like UCi but im not obsesed with it i dont have a anteater car and stuff i was just on a rant cause i was sick of waiting.

Don't give up yet! There's always a chance! From what I noticed with my fellow peers who got accepted to UCI, there seems to be a trend somewhat like this:

Tuesday - 3.9 - 4.0 students got their notification
Wednesday - 3.7 - 3.8 students
So I'm pretty sure we'll get our notifications by tomorrow. Hang in there guys, only a couple more hours!

Oh yea, to UCI_Hopefull, I used to be exactly like you. I'm serious! Obsessed with UCI! I wasted a lot of money in their giftshop too. Those darn sweaters costs SOO much! Anyways, I got over it. Now it's Davis all the way. ahaha

does anyone know if when you actually submitted your application determines when they will post your admission status? because i submitted my a day before the deadline, i'm just wondering if that makes a difference.

ahhhh i have so much hw tonight and i can't concentrate on anything except these damn UCs!

I had a 3.82 GPA and was accepted on Mar. 1st, and I submitted my UC app a day before the deadline. Don't lose hope yet.

Eh lazieeryceboi I don't think thats how they send out the application cause I got mine on first day and i have a 3.76 GPA, sorry if i burst your bubble or anything. Well anyway Good luck!

i have 4.17 and i haven't got accepted..

horray there is still hope thank you ur post cheered me up a bit.

i want this to goto 100 post this will be my all time record :-)

i hope you get in ;)

ahaha.. there goes my theory. Guess we're doomed.

I am a ELC Student and over the summer UCI Send me a letter that went something like this

"By virtue of your academic achievement , you are guaranteed admission to the university of California Irvine"

So does that mean I am in? Because I have not received a letter of acceptance yet!!!

i'm pretty sure that u got in!!

Mandiee, admission status shouldn't be affected by when you admitted your app. I was one of the lazy ones who did their essays on the last day and I submitted 15 mns before midnight and I got some responses back already (UCSC and UCR). However, I don't think you should worry. UCI focuses on GPA and scores and your stats seem good enough to get you into I.

I also heard that UCI gives out acceptances to people with highest GPA first. With a 4.17, UCI should be drooling over you treegap. I bet you'll get your accetpance letter soon. =]

thanks treegap im sure u got some sort of scholarship to attend
