To keep it short and sweet, my rank dropped 32 ppl due to one class. BC calculus. Let's just say it wasn't a very nice way to spend my senior year.

It was just another B on my long list of B's. But it was my only B this semester.

Is is really that bad? I was excellent in alg 1 (98%), decent in geom (92%, mostly due to lazyness) and am okay in alg 2/trig (91%, mostly laziness, haven't started trig part yet). We're on logarithms. I fell asleep the first day, and I am lost. I hate logs. I hate the whole conceptual math thing in it's entirety. I'm dreading precal. I'd stop there, but we have to take math all 4 years (i'm a soph) Does this make me a better candidate for AP Stat, or should I stick with the AP Calc track? I really can't afford a B in math senior year because I'm only going to have 5 classes that year.

This is quite depressing. :D

Haha. My junior year's dying because of Calc BC. Too bad that it shows up on my transcript.

99 average in Geometry, 97 in Pre-Calc, ...88 or so in Calc as of now.

Oh the shame.

funny that I saw this thread. Today, I reached a landmark. I got my first ever 0% on a quiz, and it was in BC Calculus. I haven't done a homework assignment for 2 whole months. Wow. I guess it's not fair to say it's screwing me over, more like I... don't... do anything in that class.

Oh princessbell definitely stick with calc, but you may want to think twice about calc BC that's all...

I had 98 alg 1, 92 geom, 97 alg2, 95 precal, and then bombed calc BC, now I'm in AB with 95. But I won't recover from the damage in BC. At least I'm in Early Decision, so it's not thaat bad, nonetheless, its pretty shameful.

You bombed it? Can you say a specific grade? :p

haha i was subtly trying to avoid that...but I'm not gonna give up easy. lol.

See if you can figure it out.

The definite integral of 2x from 10 to 13. :(

I got B's in geometry, A/B in Algebra II, A/B in precalc...and this semester I got an 89.43 in Calc (one percent on my final away from an A).

I think it's doable...I just made some dumb mistakes.

Oh man...I just took the midterm today (aka -- an AP Calc AB test).

I don't want to think about it anymore. The free responses...I'd be surprised if I got half the points I should have gotten.

Chet u got a 69? Dunno if i got it right lol I just took calc ab and am dreading bc myself

Haha, I remember seeing this on a shirt somewhere.

Is Calc BC really that bad? I'm in precalc right now, and I don't like the algebra in it, but the trig is awesome. Functions are easy, trig is easy, but logarithms are absolutely homicidal with me. I could not solve a logarithmic equation if my life depended on it. Imaginary numbers are annoying too; they're impractical.

I found that BC Calc is actually easier than precal. i got 92 in precal but getting 95s in BC

I hated BC Calc at first. Failed one test (69), had a 78 about halfway through the first MP. Then a miracle happened and I got a 94 for the marking period somehow. And then--100 2nd marking period! Somehow, it got a lot easier. (But we have a lot of extra credit..)

And no, I don't ever do the homework. Ever. (He doesn't check it)

I hate Calc BC!

What's so bad about it?

god yes it's screwing me...it's my first C in a class, EVER. before that my lowest was a B, and even so i'd only had one of those. my gpa's 4.1 weighted and now its going to go down SO MUCH. :(

but my teacher's known to be reallllly hard. she'll put stuff on tests we've never done before and say "well, you don't really know it if you can't apply it in a situation like this..." when really, that should be a homework problem rather than a test problem. tests are for seeing if you understand what was taught, not if you can "take it to the next level", as she puts it...

wow, i cna't believe there's a thread for this. my same exact situation. how funny. anyone know what to do to make the teacher change the grade? tips, suggestions?
