SO CONFUSED

So I really don’t know which score I would send to colleges.
I took the ACT and SAT and did horribly but I’m going to retake the ACT since it’s easier to study for.
ACT: 21 Composite
19E
19M
21S
25W
23ELA
9 out of 12 on the essay.

SAT: 1070 Composite
570V
500M
16 out of 24 on the essay.

Is a 9 out of 12 better or a 16 out of 24. I’m assuming the ACT one is but if I retake the ACT but my writing is lower than a 9 can I just send my essay score from the first test? Also I know they both are equivalent but does the SAT “look” better than the ACT score because the individual scores “look” better? I’m trying to get at least a 27 on the ACT. It’s a big jump but I’m really going to work my a** off

See what the scores are for the college that you want, and send whatever is the highest relative to that.

Don’t bother with the essay at this point. Just prep to increase the other section’s scores and go with the test that you feel you could get the most improvement and I think that’s the ACT. You seem to be a weaker math student and for SAT the math is half your score but for ACT the math is 1/4 of the score.

Dont send anything yet. Wait until you retake. But I would suggest you do the optional essay again. While sess schools are requiring it, some schools will not superscore without it and some scholarships require it. So take the complete ACT.

^ Agree. In my post about with don’t bother with the essay I meant to say don’t bother over analyzing your essay scores and which essay looks better as you should pay more attention to the other sections. I did not mean that you shouldn’t take it again.

typo above-- should say *less schools are requiring it, but…
