Hi guys, I applied to Penn State University Park on 10/18/17 and my friend applied on 10/26/17. Her application says its under review but mine says “Penn State is currently receiving a high volume of supporting application materials. Supporting application materials are being processed and recorded on the date received. Please check your MyPennState profile regularly for updates to your checklist items. Once your checklist items are complete we will begin a review of your application.” Everything the checklist is marked as completed but the SRAR is “Received” Should I email them? I can also ask my sister to ask admissions since she goes there but I will probably email them first. Does anybody know the contact information??? And does anybody else still have this??? People are already hearing back and my application isn’t even under review yet ahhhhh!!!
got the contact info. but still anybody else have this???
This is normal.
@nammyohorengekyo Totally normal. Same thing with mine and when I couldn’t take it anymore I called admissions. They explained that the SRAR is received but has not yet been entered into the system, form, etc to be able to be formally reviewed. Once the SRAR info is moved, the status will change to Complete. From that point the range of waiting time, based on this forum, is 1 day to 6 weeks. Good times…good times.
Application completion dates are random. They are not done in order. This is why someone who applies in October may end up hearing before someone who applied in September. So try not to focus on what happens with other people’s applications because it will drive you nuts. All Penn State promises is if you apply by November 30, you will hear by January 31st.
Since it is after November 30 though, I would call admissions and just make sure they have everything they need. They won’t be able to tell your sister anything though - so just call yourself.
