Hello, everyone.
So..this semester I decided to take 7 classes (23 units...I know, I was crazy.),
and most of the classes went well and I think I will be getting all As except for this one
class, which is Philosophy. I think I will most likely to get a C, but if I'm lucky it will be B.
However, there IS a great chance that I will get a "D" in the class, because I still have
5 finals left and I need to focus on other classes too..

I'm TAG'd to UCSD and I was wondering if my TAG will be revoked if I get one "D"? (I will get all A's in other classes) So far my GPA is 3.7 something, and this "D" won't dramatically affect my GPA (my gpa will be in 3.6 range if I get a "D").

This is my first "D" and it is not my major requirement and I have completed my IGETC by last summer. Will this one "D" revoke my UCSD tag? But still, I will most likely to get a C..
A "C" is totally fine right? I'm just worrying what would happen if I get a D..

PLEASE, give me any advices. Thank you for reading it. I would appreciate if anyone could respond.

A C is totally fine with your GPA. If you do get a D, retake the course next term! This way you get academic renewal. I’ve never had to do this so I don’t know a lot about the process and policies…
Could someone maybe give his or her input on the issue?

I think op is asking if his/her tag will be revoked after getting a D… I’m not too sure but if ur 3.0 or above nd took eng, math and igetc u will be fine I think… Does anyone else have info?

Yes most likely your TAG will be voided and you will have to wait another year to transfer because your GPA will not be high enough. As a result you will then feel very sad. the point is you took way to many classes you can handle now you are paying the price. It is better that you learn now and have to wait another year then to mess up at a UC.

Excuse me? But I had some reasons why I had to take 7 classes in a semester. I didn’t want to do this either. And just because you can’t handle that doesn’t mean that I can’t handle… I’m sure I did pretty well even with 7 classes considering that I got As in 6 classes and this one C in my philosophy class. And I said I will most likely to get a C but I’m just worrying. Even if I get a D my gpa will stay in 3.6 range which I think it won’t void my tag since I completed my pre reqs, eng/math reqs and my igetc.

You’re fine as long as you keep your overall GPA. That’s the only thing UCSD TAG looks at. You could probably get straight F’s for the quarter in classes that aren’t transfer requirements, as long as you maintain your overall 3.0 GPA.

If you drop below a C, you should probably retake it though.

No, you’ll be fine. Your TAG won’t be voided for getting a D, or an F. You need to maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and then in the spring/summer you have to maintain a 2.0 in each semester and a 3.0 cumulative.

Ew Pianocat…not necessary. Anyways you’re totally fine, even with a D, as long as it wasn’t a class required for IGETC. If it was, retake the course in winter or spring, and you should be fine with that too. 7 classes is tough, and to get majority A’s is very commendable, good job!
