Hi! :)
I have read a lot of "chance me" threads and they are amazing!
However, I was just wondering, were any of you finally accepted?
If you were, could you explain your process of applying? xD I am not quite sure if that made sense but anyhow...
And finally, being a Canadian citizen but born in America, should I even try to apply to American schools? My grades are not extraordinary.... :/

We don’t find out for another 15 or so hours!

One very useful thread that almost all colleges have (certainly all of the competitive ones) are the decisions threads. People post their admission decision along with their stats and other information that you’d typically find in a “Chance Me” thread. Although I can see how they’d be stressful to look at for some people, I personally found them useful and intriguing to go through.

As to whether you should apply, I would say certainly! It’s always worth a shot. Furthermore, international students are really only disadvantaged when it comes to financial aid. An added plus, you’re not from one of the extremely competitive international pools like India and China! Good luck to you :)

Oh, whoops, sorry xD
Wow, this must be a really stressful time then D:
Really hope you get in!!
And okay, thanks
I’m sort of worried though, I never really thought about universities until this year (10th grade, so I believe Sophomore year?) Is that too late?

Not too late but your 9th grade through 12th grade results will count. Since you were born in the US apply as an American studying abroad. You will qualify for more financial aid or merit scholarship. Your parents Canadian tax will be used to judge your eligibility. Make sure your parents are in line with your decisions since it is a lot cheaper to school in Canada than the US.
Look into SAT 1 and SAT 2 subjects. Go big on EC and keep your grades up. Good luck. Check into College confidential on weekends only. lol.

Yes i am very stressed…looking forward to rejection from harvard tomoroe…

I know – I don’t want to look.

I disagree. Smile, you should look at the metrics of people accepted and rejected. If you’re discussing one of the world’s most selective schools, “not extraordinary” grades will almost 99.9% certainly leave you out of contention.

Now I don’t know if you’re prone to false humility (some people on this site are) and you secretly are a 3.9999 GPA holder with 2360 SAT. But to even be a halfway viable H applicant, you need to be among the top handful of students in your school at this moment

…unless ur a URM…in which case u can have mediocre stats…and still get in…

Not to Harvard serghes. cuz tons of URMs with great scores apply and will get in ahead of the mediocre testing URM

Well…i looked at last years decisions thread and i saw alot of UrMs accepted with awful sats… like 1900…
