I'm extremely worried about my SAT scores. Hopefully there is some relief because I try to compensate for my poor standardized testing through leadership and activities I am passionate about. I also tended to do well in my AP classes, but were in none freshman year so my course difficult has increased. I hope this also will be noticed by the admissions office. Let me know what you guys think.

Your activities look great, lots of ECs and leadership roles! And the subject tests look solid too. However, I think the GPA is low and the SAT Math score is low. But if this is for RD, maybe take the SAT one more time? And work REALLY hard on getting the best grades possible this smester! Make sure you have a great essay: really well edited with good writing, and write about something that absolutley no one else can write about. I think you have a chance, but it doesn’t look too high. I know someone who was able to get an interview with admissions at NEU…if possible, I would look into that…it can only help if you do well, and if you have a great, unique personality, that just many be what makes them accept you. Best of luck and I hope this helps.

The next SAT is Janurary 28th and the deadline for registration is December 30th. I have my scores from December 3rd coming out, but school and other commitments tended to interfere with SAT studying time. Am I still able to SAT scores even after I submit my application into NEU? Do you know how to grab an interview. I believe they said that interested students couldn’t grab an interview because it is such a big school. However, I was not sure on whether they said actual applicants could grab an interview.

Well, if you’ve taken the December 3rd SAT, I would wait to see how those scores are, and hopefully they’ve improved. I’m not sure if they will take scores after you apply, I know some schools are fine with that and others are not. You should call admissions. And I’m not sure how to get an interview, but I do know that someone in my school definetely had one. I would call admissions for that one too. They were really helpful when I called them, just ask them about interviews and the policy for sending scores.

alright thanks for the helpful tips. I’m a little worried because naviance is showing the average acceptance for 3.8ish. I’m hoping my human side shines a little more than the hard numbers.
