So, class of 2011, I was just wondering how it’s going? Has Brown lived up to your expectations so far? How are your classes? Your living situation? Food? extra curicular activities? Are you making friends and enjoying the whole college experience? Has Brown been the right choice for you (even though it is still early and there is nothing to really compare it to)? Just share some insight into your first few weeks living in Providence.

Still trying to figure out my final courses :-L
Other than that, i like it here. I personally think the food is great, I spend like at least 2 hours a day in the ratty, just stuffing myself. And I am very picky, and generally eat very little.
Academically, I think I'll wait it out and see. First impressions are not so good so far, but it may be just the beginning, I dunno.

First few days have been pretty weird, since i'm international and crap, changing the language all of a sudden is..weird, but I'm surprised how fast i got used to it.

Just hope I can finally be done with choosing courses. Currently I got phys 7, 47 and 153, math 20, and psyc 1. I just registered for 153, dunno what it's like yet. So far the psyc one is the most interesting, and math 20 is nice, svitlana is really sweet :P. 7 is boring, 47 the same, + the stupid questions that students are asking are really..just stupid.
I had engn 3, was really enthusiastic about it, but after spending one whole hour on the simple pendulum, i dropped it. It was like 7th grade all over again.

And why are the big lecture rooms being air conditioned ffs, it's freezing inside, especially the aud in hunter lab.

its incredible over here.

i'm not going to lie, classes are pretty hard though. that could also be because my schedle is pretty overpacked--chem33, phys7, math17 and ital30. as far as professors go, they are all really great people and the absolutely adore their subjects. it totally comes across that they think nothing is more beautiful than a nice symmetrical slope field or whatever they are teaching at the momet. plus, extra help is always available, whether its through office hours, section conferences, or asking the guy down the hall, because everyone here is super smart in some way or another.

as far as food goes, i can't say i'm particularly thrilled with the choices. theres a lot of pasta, and usually some rather questionable looking meat. and everything is quite flavorless-- they don't use spices or even salt. but its edible. and there are some really great places on thayer to break the monotony when necessary.

and of course the social aspect is amzing. everyone is so happy to meet you and get to know you, and its really nice having a unit that you're tight with. basically, theres never a free moment between classes, recitations, parties, hang outs, clubs, homework and so forth. come to brown!!!

the food here is hit and miss. you might find a couple of things that are good and the rest is just filler. at least you can always count and waffles on ice cream. i agree they use no spice in the food..or simple things like butter. we had some turkey in the vdub tonight which couldnt be cut with a knife. needless to say it took an express trip to the trash can. i wonder what negru has been eating all this time to think the ratty is good.

Well you always find something there that's good. Plus you always have pizza, pasta, chicken, and cereal, which are pretty good when the main line is crap.

I'll agree the cereal is good - since they don't make it. The others I'm gonna say not so good. The pizza is especially bad. I don't how you could eat that after having Nice Slice or Pizza Pie-er. I'm used to eating out or cooking my own food (which is much better).

Well it's not incredible pizza, it's ok pizza. Bad food would make you starve, and I don't think it's the case. Anyway, I'm used to school cafeterias from my own country, so this is actually food heaven by comparison for me, but anyway :P

for me okay pizza is like red baron from the grocery store frozen aisle

Aside from the food issues, how is the campus? Living situation? Have you found activities/clubs, and the people associated with these, that make your time away from class/studying fullfilling?

how amazing is the pizza at the gate?? anyone??

it's slimy.

i like the one at ratty much more.

i'd eat gate pizza over ratty pizza. ratty pizza is like a slice of bread with a thin layer of cheese on it. gate pizza is very digiorno. in fact i had some for lunch.

i love pizzas, so i'll eat gate pizza, ratty pizza and the okay pizza..if you know other flavors, just post it here..so that i'll know..thanks...<love to="" eat="">..</love>

How's the workload?
