Many thanks to mercurysquad for sharing the link to that interesting article.

Actually that article is a bit old and things have changed dramatically since 2000. E.g.-

Incidentally, JEE is about the most candidate-friendly examination. For example, a candidate who cannot reach his designated centre for whatever reason is allowed to appear almost anywhere else, no question asked.

There have been remarkable innovations in the administration of the test over the past three years. Every aspect of the JEE operation has been re-thought, redesigned and implemented for greater efficiency. Some of the innovations include the following: a much simplified application form which depends completely on self-declaration by the candidates and does not require them to submit any documents; fully-automated handling of applications

All that has changed and sadly, it has become the least candidate friendly exam ever! Test center choices are limited to your 'zone' which is somewhat arbitrary, you cannot show up 'anywhere, no questions asked', you gotta submit attested documents and the application process being fully automated is a negative concept (a little error and BOOM, your app is rejected!).

u guys are lucky.........
after just enjoyed my xanga blog for about 2 days, i am noW experiencing extreme mental agony not that severe though. ^^.........the world has changed........ now i am BEGGING for volunteer opportunities for our youth church fellowship........i need the write a report about what volunteer we gona do this year............. tonight the report is due............... my report title is volunteer report for spring, TENTATIVE

I'm working to complete the IB program. In my spare time I'm writing a story and trying to learn how to dance like Michael Jackson. I can moonwalk pretty well now.

I mostly learned it from a video of his performance of Billie Jean at Motown 25. You have your right foot on its toes and your left foot flat, and you push yourself backwards with your right foot. Once your left foot is behind your right foot, you switch them so the right foot is flat and the left foot is on the toes. You shift your weight to the left and push yourself backwards. Then repeat. Always have your weight on your non-flat foot. It's very important to have the right floor and the right shoes. It's got to be quite slippery so your sliding foot never gets stuck, but with enough friction so you can push yourself backwards. Stocking feet on polished wooden floors works well. Also, of course, you've got to get the subtle hand and body movements to complete the illusion. It's very difficult to master.

Of course, MJ's got lots of other moves - the sidewalk, the kick, the spin, plus a bunch of other random stuff. Nobody will ever be able to dance like him, but even just being able to do a few moves well is worth it.

I'm gettin all paranoid. Cursing people and shouting at my parents. I'm taking the application process too much to my heart! Help me, how can I prevent this anxiety? Yesterday I had a huge fight with my dad in the middle of the night at 1:30 am.

I can't do anythng normaly. I am slacking at my job and someday my boss may just kick me out. Hell, I am going insane!

I know the feeling. Hell, so do all the RD applicants and EA deferees. It blows your mind that something that will have a huge effect on your future life is totally out of your hands. All you can really do is to reassure yourself that you did the best you could, and know that it won't last long. You'll know the result soon, whether it's good or bad. I hope it's good, for me and for everyone else, although I know that probably won't happen. Anyway, preemptively, congratulations to all admittees and my sympathies to all non-admittees.

Sleeping during the day and endlessly surfing the web at night.

Actually, I have four lab reports to write, a science fair poster that's not making itself, science olympiad events to practice for, and of course a plethora or other things to do. I could make a list a mile long but it wouldn't motivate me any more...I love being a senior!

I just can't cook period. I mean I have a hard time making cereal (is it milk then cereal or vice versa?) I think I'm honestly going to die in college, either that or dramatically increase some chinese restaurant's total revenue.

EDIT: Oh wait, i forgot that CMU has the O. Well, i'm going to die either way, cause i'm convinced that after you eat there so much your heart just goes on strike. (Of course this is barring a miracle acceptance from MIT)

Time seems to be passing rather slow.
I spend my days in classes and playing soccer; my nights are spent either at the gym working out or improving my cooking skills. I'll go skiing in two weeks, at least that will take my mind off from all this mayhem. Needless to say, I hope to get a big letter.

Try this: We've been building a hot wheels track around the physics room in the guise of "an experiment with gravitational potential energy...", lol.
