So how are people liking LC?

Just curious what your (or your kids') experiences have been so far. Any tips for good cheap places to eat, activities?

If you need a hole-in-the-wall-Mexican-food fix, the Burrito Box a few blocks south of LC is so tasty. It’s about the same cost as Chipotle and infinitely less banal.

My daughter loves the Waffle Cart. She has an app on her phone so she can see where they are.
She eats at Chipotle a lot.

She is having a great year this year (sophomore- honors program). Her classes are much easier this year after last years non-stop classes and homework and papers. She has an internship with BroadwayWorld.com, her suitemates clean up after themselves and aren’t drinking every night, also a big change from last year.

She just bought 35 old Playbills at the Broadway Flea Market last weekend. She is in exactly the best place in the world for her.

My daughter loves Fordham so far. She’s there specifically for the theater program, so issues like food, roommates, etc., are all secondary to her. As a vegetarian, she is used to frustrating food situations. She’s perfectly happy cooking for herself in her suite. Her roommates have turned out to be wonderful-- the luck of the draw.

Where to eat cheaply around Lincoln Center? She has a sister who goes to school in Lincoln Center (not Fordham) and one thing we have learned over the years is: you don’t eat cheaply around LC. Lots of great food in NYC, though, but for daily shopping my daughter has been going to Trader Joe’s and a grocery a few blocks away (I forget the name.) Whole Foods in Columbus Circle is too expensive.

Western Beef maybe? My daughter goes there sometimes. She also gets occasional deals at CVS on cereal, crackers, etc. She gets coupons and points and gets some good prices.

That sounds like the place (but she must have coughed on the word “beef”, being a vegetarian and all.)

My son really likes it, says the people are nice. Has found the cafe progressively more inedible but mostly eats from Trader Joe’s.
