So how did you like the Decison UCDavis Open House

For those that went to this on April 4, what did you think? Worthwhile? Did you learn more about the university? about your major? about what Davis college life would be like?

what did you like? dislike?

I’m planning to go on 4/17.

My friend went and she really liked how everything was so “green,” but she said there’s nothing around UCD.

No offense but your friend must be pretty unaware of her surroundings.

ktn09- Your friend must have lied because I just visited Davis and was impressed with all it had to offer. Did she even look/ask around? Because I thought there was a ton of stuff to do. The downtown is amazing (my mom and I ate at this really great pizza place) and the campus had a ton going on by itself. I thought it was super nice and busy and overall awesome.

I have no idea, I didn’t ask her. But she liked UCD overall, so that’s good. =)

There is “nothing to do in Davis” if you are boring and expect the “everything” to come knock on you dorm room door and drag you off.

Half the fun is exploring stuff and bringing the fun to you.

What is that you would like to do?

I went on the 4th, and i had a good time. I’m taking a dorm tour on wed, but there was a lot of activities…on a saturday too. I took a tour of the engineering department, and i got a better idea of what the classrooms look like, and i got to meet some of the professors…that was cool. I loved the overall feel…there was a lot of freshman around(wearing their new sweatshirts haha) but i think there is gonna be a lot more people next week. I think it was worth it. It definitely helped my parents see that it was a good place…even if it’s gonna be 10 hours away. Take advantage of it…

haha I got a new sweatshirt too. It was pretty cold and windy in the morning when I got there. The school is nice. Students are super friendly when i asked them for help. I really like the fitness center in the ARC. A lots of activities goin on there on the field like football , frisbee and soccer. Seem like there are a lot of things to do on campus on the weekend

I believe during the 4th, Relay for Life was going on on campus, so some of you guys must have seen that. Also it is a Saturday and the campus isn’t as ‘alive’ as it is during the weekday where the bike paths become a lethal death path!, the exception of course being the hoards of tour groups that came by and crowded the DC :P

hey i’m going on the 17th too! just going to see stuff that i didn’t get to see during preview day last fall… there’s always something to do, you just gotta go find it.

Look around, there is always plenty to do!

I went back on campus today…a weekday. and it’s WAY different than saturday. It was cool to see all the bustle around campus…even when it’s raining:)
