So How Does Housing Really Work

Hi there I am proud to say that I am an incoming freshman to UCI this fall, but I have a few questions
First and foremost, which dorm is better-Middle Earth or Mesa and why (and btw, I have already looked at the thread started on here-so please dont refer me to that)
My Biggest concern is that I want a single occupancy room, and I realize that there are not that many of these-so is there any way to request this when I turn in my SIR-is it a first come, first serve sort of thing?
And along with the issue of which dorm is better--which one is better for single occupancy?

Thanks!!

Anyone…?

dude you waited like 19 minutes… chill =D

It all depends on the person, for which dorm would be better for single dorm occupancy… you would know that if you read the long thread like you said you did.

If you like community, convenience (closer to classes, and pippin + brandywine) then go ME. If you are more introverted, if you are a ‘harmonious’ person, if you are part of the ‘arts’ then go MESA.

Which dorm is better? I don’t understand why you are asking this if you read the thread already.

As for the chances of getting a single room, I am not sure if it is first-come first-serve. It might be random, but just submit everything asap to be on the safe side.

@KMA

Hey, KMA! I saw you at the UC Davis thread a while ago. Sorry about your rejection to UC Davis :frowning: I knew you really wanted to go there. As for the housing options, I think you should attend their events that give a tour of the dorms. I will be going on April 17th :)
