So how does it work?

<p>I think universities want diversity too much. It's nice to have a diverse school, but don't make so extreme that you're giving minorities an advantage in the application process. If there's an Asian that's more qualified than a black, then accept the Asian, not the black just because his family makes less than $30,000 per year and because he's black.</p>

<p>We're supposed to be trying to stop racism, not perpetuate it.</p>

<p>I think that when colleges say that they want diversity, they are talking in terms of grades, activities..stuff like that. Besides, colleges don't need to favour minorities to diversify their schools, there are plenty of minorities who go to college and "diversified" the student body. If colleges ever did accept apps the way Johnathan K said, they no longer need to.</p>
