ok. I feel kinda dumb for asking this but I'm not 100% sure on how to send these applications in.

Ok, so for University of California applications,
I fill out the online app online, then send it with all the information, but then after i send it, do i get some sort of e-mail that says to send my official transcript? and on collegeboard where it says "Send my scores to..." Do i also have to send that to the UC?

If anyone could just explain the whole application process... also

would it be easier to get in if i chose a major that isnt that popular vs. a popular major?

usually, engineering majors are more difficult to get into then the others, but it really doesn't matter
i believe you need to send them ur sats, but your grades are self-reported

You fill out the UC application online and submit it then. In the application, you self-report your SAT scores. However, they also want you to send them the scores directly so you must do it via the College Board.

Also, there are some majors that are impacted. However, I believe that they only use the major if you already have one set; it won't hurt you. Furthermore, I do not believe it affects admissions. You take your major-specific courses in junior year of college and so it'll only affect you then; it won't change the likelihood of you getting in.

they do NOT take teacher recommendations

although you self-report scores, they do want you to send from college board too

like quixoticrick said, there ARE some impacted majors (the only one i can think of off the top of my head is electrical engineering for uc berkeley)

you send the application to the uc system, and check off which campuses you want to apply to

for ucsd you'll have to rank which of the six colleges you want to be placed in

most importantly do NOT wait until the last minute to send in a uc app. they have a ridiculous amount of apps being sent in, and i hear that the system crashes frequently the day of...so send it in early!

My friend who attends Cal just told me that she went to the counselor and had them send it in. However, she said that she only had to send it in when she got in and was going to go.
