so...how fast do you read?

How Many Words-Per-Minute Do You Read?

i read 200-250 wpm

How bored were you?

350-400 WPM, probably because I've already read that speech before.

800-850. These tests are useless though because you don't read as quickly when you're looking at a textbook....which is about the only thing they're useful for.

You read between 350 - 400 words per minute, although an annoying pop up occurred when I pressed start and required that I close it before I begin.

sheesh that link is gonna give me a virus

300-350, though to be fair, I usually do read physical text faster than text on a screen.

400-450, and I tried to read at about the same rate that I would for a textbook... although this changes drastically when I'm reading facts that I must memorize instead of just conceptual stuff.

800-850. Cather.

700-750. JFK.

I think I'm actually faster on paper. I have issues with reading across the screen.

300-350 words per minute, according to this.

400-450

It was very easy reading though.

400-450, but the accuracy of these tests is questionable. One might read a captivating novel with increased spead, or slow down when reading text with detalied questions at the end.

250-300, I know, I am slow. It was really easy, and I thought I was reading to quickly, like I was starting to skim, so I slowed down...a lot.

Um... I finished the speech before 1 minute was over. I've been tested... I read well over 1300 wpm.

250-300 wpm
sometimes i read slower depending on what i have to comprehend

hmm...i just retook the test and got 250-300

I finished with about 15-20 seconds left. I read really fast, though. 1000-page novels are light reading for me.

how do some of you guys read that fast, without failing to understand what you just read???

550 - 600 for JFK

600 - 650 for Cather

But obviously I read the Cather stuff faster - It's way more interesting to read about a sexy Professor than some dumb old presidential speech...;]

Um... you read in blocks instead of word by word. I went to an academic camp where we learned speed reading... in 7th grade. The top of the scale they used was 1100wpm.... I finished before the teacher even began recording when students were done... then we had a test on comprehension... I made a 100%.
