Extra Notes
Moving has been a bit tough to get traction. Faced some financial hardship and things. Will note to colleges
My counselor and I have been trying to weight my classes and make sure my transcript is accurate. its a very messy process.
Major: history and econ

Am I boasting? To me boasting is saying; I'll get in, no problems. There are so many other people out there that have better scores, EC's, whatever than I do. Its pretty natural to assume that one doesn't have good chances.

Inconsiderate? It is an honest question; how much of a reach will this school be for me? It sucks much more to pin all hopes on one college and not seriously consider all other options.

So am I some arrogant girl out there in cyberspace? No, just another insecure and hopeful indivdual wanting some sort of truth.

serena, c'mon. Don't be so abrasive. jespere, I can only say that you, like many other applicants, worry more about your chances than you do about actually applying and trying to get in. Don't worry about your chances. Let your application (instead of your scores, grades, and extracurriculars) speak for you. Sure, Wesleyan looks for top students with high scores, A's, and a vast array of extracurriculars, but it also looks for a great person in essays and in interviews, just as any other top school might.

Jespere, you sound like an awesome person to me; I don't see it as boasting.

One slightly helpful thing is that at Wesleyan, it is an advantage in admissions (rather than a disadvantage, as it is at some schools) to apply as an Asian students. Being the founding member of anything also looks very impressive - are you thinking of writing about that in any of your essays?

Your ACT score is good, but not something that's going to get you into the school - it's in the range, but maybe a little below average for Wes. Similarly, your class rank puts you in the good, but not standout category. So you're definitely in the range - but it's going to depend on other factors to get in - so write a great personal essay, and think carefully about choosing teachers who really know you well to write recommendations for you.

So good luck! And don't be insecure - you're going to get into some college where you'll be really happy, is what I've realized. Also, searching for "some sort of truth" - Wesleyan is postmodernist enough that after a few years here, you'll probably realize that you just construct your own truth, anyway :P
