Well... I've been feeling a bit left out by all the "What are you asking for Christmas?" threads, so I decided to do one about Chanukah.

What have you gotten so far?
Do you get a bunch of little presents, one big present, or a mixture?
Are you thoroughly enjoying the latkes?
...I've run out of questions.

I've gotten: A coach bag, a book on Michaelangelo, and a journal. I usually get one big present and a bunch of little ones, but this year I'm going on a big family vacation so... my brother and I are just getting a couple of presents. And yes, I am thoroughly enjoying the latkes. My mom makes amazing ones.

What does that mean?

We're a very diverse family, we celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, and Yule.

For Hanukkah, I've gotten fuzzy socks, a dvd, and a ring.

The holidays are very, very light for us this year because of the economy.

lily, I thought you went to a Christian school? (Honestly just curious because my dad is Jewish but I went to a Catholic school lol). Also, if a coach bag isn't a big gift then what exactly is? Haha, jw.

yeah I was thinking... isn't a coach bag a pretty big present????

I keep getting Merry Christmas's... so I normally just say back... Happy Hannukah and people look at me strangely.... I guess there are waaaay more christians/catholics here then jews... actually outside of a couple of suburbs there are like no jews... anyways getting one BIIIIG present this year.. well big for me... a ninetendo wii... have never had a game console in my life and its kinda a good results/chanukkah present... so yes.. haven't had any latkes though this year yet!

In my English class, we had this group project to present something about Christmas in another country. One group did Israel. But instead of talking about Christmas in Israel, they spent the whole time talking about Hanukkah and how the Jews in the US view Christmas. I was quite disappointed. Haha, and the one kid actually said "Chanukah" with the "ch" sound. He was being serious. I thought it was quite funny that he didn't know how to pronounce it.

I go to a school that's about 95% Christian and 5% atheist. So no one cares about Hanukkah. Those are just my general musings.
