^^That's the one I got too.

Yeah me too.
I'm so glad that they clarified though so that people wouldn't still be asking WAIT...WHAT?!! DECISIONS? WHEN? WHERE?

Does anybody else feel like when they first joined CC they asked a LOT of really obnoxious questions?

Yeah I think I did. But I guess how you get started, because they're not obnoxious until you've been around long enough to know the answers (which is why you come here in the first place).

Good point.
I just was reading through some of my first posts and I was thinking SLDFJLAKJFLAK I WOULD BE SO ANNOYED WITH MYSELF IF I WERE ME RIGHT NOW (<< most senseless/grammatically incorrect sentence ever, but it's alright).

mallomar, the link i was using is https://puwebq.princeton.edu:7230/index.html, which has obviously been taken down. i just tried the login thing to double check that my username/password worked, and it came up and said "invalid username and password", and since that seemed to be the error everyone got, i wasnt worried, except i went on the page where you can have your username sent to your email, and it came back and said my email wasnt in the system, ditto when i put in my username and tried to change the password. so my worry now is that im not at all in the system, and thus cant check my status online...which would suck seeing as how i wont be home to get the mail...anyone else having this problem???

Princeton246, try to log in or retrieve your password again using this link:

i just did and it recognized my email!!! yay this makes me REALLY happy, as yesterday, that very same link told me that my email was not found...guess it was a glitch b/c of that other website, but i just got the email so i assume that im OK. thanks mallomar.

It is not the very same link. Look closer--this is puwebP while the other was puwebQ.

yeah i know. i went to the puwebP link after going to the puwebQ link yesterday, and neither of them worked, hence, the worry

Have most people used the same username for the registration as they used for the online application? I had to use a different one since Ochroma was "already in use." I'm surprised anyone else would use that.

That's very odd that a unique name like that would be taken. I can't answer your question though, because I used the paper app. Perhaps you registered that name to check your application status? If so, then you can use that account but it sounds like you've never registered for anything except for the online app. Weird.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

:( anyone know what the problem is? i'm obviously connected to internet and since y'all can check your stuff it's nothing to do with the website having problems. also, i just clicked the link in this thread so there's no typing error. :S

It sounds like the domain points nowhere if it's not a 404 error and your inet connection still works.

in english? (i'm also very computer illiterate, btw.)

I'm too nervous to try out this website. I don't think I'm going to visit it until I actually check my decision.

And lenni, I'm with you on that one.

404 = resource (usually a web page) not found error. you might find a reference to it in nerdy (the best kind!) jokes

inet = an old abbreviation of internet. good example of how programmers are too lazy to type everything out

domain = a range of names that point to servers. technically stuff like com, edu, org, gov, etc... are domains (they are top-level domains), but usually a domain refers to something like princeton.edu or google.com or wikipedia.org. In this case, I was referring to the domain puwebp(or was it q?).princeton.edu, which is more specifically a subdomain, but I think I've confused you enough already, sorry :P

at least it might come in handy when you're representing princeton on college jeopardy.

hahaha! yeeeeeah, riiiight.

i'll just have to have someone (for whom the site actually works) check it for me. shakes dude, i don't want to have to hear it from someone on the phone

try calling princeton or emailing them.

Why bother? Decisions come out Thursday evening. Obviously if you're using a contrived URL to log in ahead of time, it won't work.

If anyone has a problem and is looking for someone to cut and paste their response for them or print and fax, I will do it.
