<p>@gongmiester: I would say it’s the latter. You can see from the EA 2014 thread that so many people with great stats were deferred.</p>

<p>Frankly speaking, it’s up to you. If you feel your ECs, GPA, and SAT scores are very competitive, by all means go ahead and apply EA. EA has a higher acceptance rate than RD, but this is due to the highly competitive pool of applicants.</p>
