So, I applied ED and my online status thing confirmed that my ED app was complete and I got the email about online decisions released on the 9th and everything, then today, I got an email from an alum scheduling an interview for the 18th >_<

Deferred? Gah!

Gosh that sucks. Don't freak out though. I only had my alumni interview two weeks ago. Don't assume things (deferral, etc.) until you figure it out. It could just be an error in scheduling or whatever. And hey, if it's not, at least you didn't get rejected. :)

My alumni interviewer told me she got her list of students weeks ago and just put it off until the last minute. It has nothing to do with your admissions decision... once your interviewer is assigned, it''s his/her responsibility to schedule interviews on time.

is it a disadvantage if you don't have an interview?

well they're optional in the first place. im pretty sure they can only judge you by it, not by lack of it. It does help, and it certainly would help your RD application if worse came to worse. It can only supplement, like peer rec. And, its not like you said you didn't want to have one. It wasn't your fault so I don't think it'll be looked upon negatively.

I agree. (Ten character limit...)

Oh, so interviews are not a required part of the process?

I wouldn't assume that you've been deferred though. . .remain hopeful!
