so...i got a 780 on it but

Hey everyone...I got a 780 on my first SAT II I took last summer in World History. (and a 5 in AP World History)
Anyways...
I was wondering...do the adcoms look for diversity in your SAT II tests?
Like...do they want to see Chemistry and History vs. History and Spanish?
Or do they just want to see extremely high scores regardless of diversity?

Also...I'm taking about every subject offered by AP (and have received 5s on all of them so far) ...should I take an SAT II in something I am not doing AP? Or is it okay if I take an AP and an SAT II in the same subject?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

I think they would rather have a “specialist” than a jack of all trades if you know what I mean.

When it comes to extra curriculars and interests, yes.

When it comes to SAT IIs and Princeton, no.

Take as many SAT IIs as you can demonstrate strength in. You want to meet at least two 750+. Make sure you’re also doing well on subjects you’re more interested in studying in college, as well as other ones. Showing academic strength in multiple areas, even in a broad sense, will benefit your application.

For instance, if you’re a passionate history student who has shown interest in the subject in and out of school, but you also are strong in French and science, you could send in these SAT IIs and it would show depth but also strength:

World History - 780
US History - 780
Chemistry - 770
Biology M - 760
French - 760

Obviously you don’t need to send in 5, but if you’re only a sophomore and you have a 780 on World History, definitely take more than two if you’re capable of doing so.

Let’s say, theoretically, that I take Chem, History, and English Lang as my SAT IIs and get 750, 780, and 780 respectively. I can only send in two scores. Should I send Lang and History even though they are both literature/language (?) based? Or should I send the Chem in place of one of them to show diversity?

Ivymania: You can send in all your SAT subject test scores. Two is the required minimum. A lot of people send in 3 or more.
